The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.--Notice Declaring an Interest in Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take, under Part II of the said Act, the interest of the lessee in the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 56 on the 22nd day of September, 1949, at page No. 2350:
And whereas an objection was made by the lessee of the said land, in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said interest:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his Notice of Intention to Take the said interest:
And whereas the land Valuation Committee to which the said objection was referred did on the 22nd day of February, 1950, make an order which, with the consent of the licensee, substituted the land described in the Second Schedule hereto for the land described in the said First Schedule, and allowing the Crown to take the interest of the lessee in the land described in the said Second Schedule:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the land described in the said Second Schedule is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the interest of the lessee in the land described in the said Second Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 7th day of July, 1950, as the date on which the said interest shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
FIRST SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement seven (7) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being portion of Section 11, Block XIII, Mangakahia Survey District, and being portion of the land described in the renewable lease comprised in register-book, Volume 612, folio 94 (Auckland Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, as No. Proc. 3032, and thereon edged red.
SECOND SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing five (5) acres, more or less, being portion of Section 7, Block XIII, Mangakahia Survey District, and being part of the land described in the renewable lease comprised in register-book, Volume 612, folio 94 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing three (3) acres and twenty-two (22) perches, more or less, being portion of Section 11, Block XIII, Mangakahia Survey District, and being part of the land described in the renewable lease comprised in register-book, Volume 612, folio 94 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing three-tenths (0·3) perches, more or less, being portion of Section 11, Block XIII, Mangakahia Survey District, and being part of the land described in the renewable lease comprised in register-book, Volume 612, folio 94 (Auckland Registry).
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, as No. Proc. 3054, and thereon edged red.
As witness my hand, this 4th day of July, 1950.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.
SCHEDULE
TANIWHAARAU TRIBAL DISTRICT
Tainui Tribal Committee Area
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Ohuka Stream; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 72 in Block IV, Awaroa Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District, and a right line to the confluence of the Akatea Stream and the Waingaro Stream; thence south-westerly generally down the middle of the Waingaro River and the middle of the Kerikeri River to its mouth in Whaingaroa Harbour, and along a right line to Hauraki Point; thence southerly along a right line to the junction of Ponds road with the Kauroa–Te Mata Main Highway; thence south-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 96 (E.R.), Karioi Parish; thence northerly generally to and along the sea-coast across the entrance to Whaingaroa Harbour and again along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Ohuka Stream, the point of commencement.
Tarawhiti Settlement Tribal Committee Area
All that area situated in Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District, being Sections 16A, 18A, 18B, 18c, 24, 25A, 25B, 26A, 26B, and 28, Pepepe Parish, those parts of Sections 16 and 17, Pepepe Parish, situated to the west of the road running along the left bank of the Waikato River, and Section 33, Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District.
Rakaumanga Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 2, Block XI, Rangiriri Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Waikato River; thence southerly generally up the middle of that river to the northern boundary of the Borough of Ngaruawahia as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1921 at page 501; thence westerly generally along that boundary to the south-western corner of Section 36, Parish of Waipa, and along a right line to the confluence of the Akatea Stream and the Waingaro Stream; thence northerly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block IX, Rangiriri Survey District, the point of commencement, excepting thereout the area comprised in the Tarawhiti Settlement Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described.
Waingaro Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Akatea Stream and the Waingaro Stream; thence proceeding easterly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 36, Parish of Waipa, being a point on the boundary of the Borough of Ngaruawahia as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1921 at page 501; thence southerly and easterly along that boundary to the middle of the Waipa River; thence southerly generally up the middle of the Waipa River to a point opposite the southern boundary of the Waipa Parish; thence westerly to and along the southern boundary of that parish and its production to the middle of the Waitetuna River; thence down the middle of that river to its mouth, and along a right line due west to a right line between Hauraki Point and the junction of Ponds Road with the Kauroa–Te Mata Main Highway, being a point on the boundary of the Tainui Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary to the confluence of the Akatea Stream and the Waingaro Stream, the point of commencement.
Turangawaewae Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waikato River and the Mangawara Stream; thence proceeding south-easterly generally up the middle of the Mangawara Stream, to and up the middle of the Komakorau Stream to its intersection with the southern boundary of Block VI, Komakorau Survey District, and along a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 4A, on the plan numbered 3916, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of the said Lot 4A to the northernmost corner of Lot 3, on the plan numbered 4472, deposited as aforesaid; thence north-westerly across the railway-line, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 302, Kirikiriroa Parish to its northern end; thence westerly along a right line to the eastern end of the southern side of the road forming the northern boundary of Lots 26, 27, and 28, on the plan numbered 16401, deposited as aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern side of that road, to and across Tramway Road to its western side; thence northerly along that side of Tramway Road to the southern side of Insoll Road; thence westerly along that side of Insoll Road and its production to the middle of Peach Grove Road, being a point on the boundary of the City of Hamilton as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1949 at page 2500; thence northerly and westerly generally along that city boundary to the middle of the Waikato River; thence north-westerly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-western boundary of a ballast-reserve, which boundary forms portion of the boundary of the Borough of Ngaruawahia as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1921 at page 501; thence south-westerly and north-westerly generally, to and along that borough boundary to the eastern boundary of Section 109A, Suburban South, Town of Newcastle; thence southerly along that section boundary and its production to the middle of the Waipa River; thence westerly and northerly generally down the middle of that river to the boundary of the Borough of Ngaruawahia aforesaid; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly along that borough boundary to the middle of the Waikato River; thence northerly generally down the middle of that river to its confluence with the Mangawara Stream, the point of commencement.
Tangirau Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the southern extremity of the eastern boundary of Section 109A, Suburban South, Town of Newcastle, being a point on the boundary of the Turangawaewae Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence proceeding south-easterly generally along the boundary of that area to a point due east of the junction of Churchs Road and Pukete Road; thence due west to the said junction; thence south-westerly along a right line to the confluence of Ohote Stream and the Waipa River; thence westerly and northerly generally down the middle of the Waipa River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 109A aforesaid; thence northerly to the southern extremity of that boundary, being the point of commencement.
Hamilton Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waikato River due east of the junction of Churchs Road and Pukete Road, being a point on the boundary of the Turangawaewae Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence proceeding south-easterly and easterly generally along the boundary of that area to the northernmost corner of Lot 3, on
