THE Public Service Commission has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—
Ian Douglas Knox
to be an Inspector under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1928, on and from the 1st day of June, 1950.
Maxwell Rowe Nelson
to be Official Assignee for the Supreme Court District of Wellington, under the Bankruptcy Act, 1908, on and from the 12th day of June, 1950.
Hugh Anderson
to be Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court at Balclutha for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1947, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Balclutha for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 30th day of June, 1950.
John Courtney Quinlan
to be Registrar of the Magistrates’ Courts at Te Kuiti and Otorohanga for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1947, and Maintenance Office at the Magistrates’ Courts at Te Kuiti and Otorohanga for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 3rd day of July, 1950.
Walter Parker
to be Registrar at Wellington of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Sheriff for the District of Wellington, and Registrar of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908; Registrar and Marshal at Wellington of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in respect of its jurisdiction as a Colonial Court of Admiralty under the Colonial Courts of Admiralty Act, 1890; and Registrar of the Court of Review at Wellington for the purposes of the Mortgagors and Lessees Rehabilitation Act, 1936, on and from the 13th day of June, 1950.

to be Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court at Dannevirke for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1947, Official Assignee at Dannevirke for the Supreme Court District of Wellington for the purposes of the Bankruptcy Act, 1908, Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Dannevirke for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, and Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the Licensing District of Pahiatua for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, on and from the 30th day of June, 1950.

to be Registrar of the Magistrates’ Court at Christchurch for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1947, and Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the Districts of Christchurch, Riccarton, Lyttelton, Avon, Fendalton, and Selwyn for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, on and from the 28th day of April, 1950.
Gavin Eugene Pollock

PURSUANT to regulation 19 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1946, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

Notification of Approval of Rules 10 and 11 of the North Canterbury Acclimatization Society

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Amendment of Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 51 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, the Minister of Lands gave notice declaring the land described in the First Schedule hereto to be taken under Part III of the said Act, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 64 on the 27th day of July, 1944, at page 925 ;
And whereas an error was made in describing the said land in the said notice:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of subsection (j) of section 25 of the Acts Interpretation Act, 1924, the Minister of Lands doth hereby amend the said notice and doth hereby declare that the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is taken in substitution for the land declared to be taken in the said notice.
FIRST SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing ninety-one (91) acres one (1) rood and nine and four-tenths (9·4) perches, more or less, being parts of Lots 44 and 46 on Deposited Plan No. 7811, being part of Kaihu No. 2B Block, situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Maungaru Survey District, and being the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 285, folio 250 (Auckland Registry).
SECOND SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL those parcels of land containing ninety-one (91) acres one (1) rood and nine and four-tenths (9·4) perches, more or less, being parts of Lots 44 and 46 on Deposited Plan 7811, being part of Kaihu No. 2B Block, situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Maungaru Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 285, folio 250 (Auckland Registry), subject to the provisions of the document registered as K3219
