HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
COLONELS’ LIST
Regular Force—
Brigadier L. Potter, C.B.E., D.S.O., is posted to the Retired List. Dated 21st December, 1949.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY
Territorial Force—
Temp. Captain and Quartermaster N. W. H. Bonham, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain and Quartermaster, with seniority from 17th April, 1941. Dated 1st May, 1949.
With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 74, dated 8th December, 1949, relative to Temp. Lieutenant R. J. Greenfield, for “and is posted to the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A.,” substitute “and is posted to the 1st Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A.”
Temp. Lieutenant E. R. Simkin, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 28th March, 1943. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant J.J. Swindells, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 28th March, 1943. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant J. B. Fisher, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st July, 1943. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant O. J. Henderson, 11th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 26th November, 1943. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Frank Frederick Whiting (late Temp. Lieutenant, N.Z. Artillery), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 21st November, 1946, and is posted to the 9th Coast Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st December, 1948.
Alfred Warick Coutts (late Flying Officer, R.N.Z.A.F.), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 23rd February, 1947, and is posted to the 13th Composite Anti-Aircraft Regiment, R.N.Z.A. Dated 1st January, 1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Territorial Force—
Temp. Major R. R. Atkinson, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Major, with seniority from 21st March, 1947, and is posted to the 1st Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C. (Waikato). Dated 1st December, 1949.

Temp. Captain W. H. Behague, 1st Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 2nd December, 1942. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Captain L. A. Burke, 2nd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 3rd June, 1943. Dated 1st May, 1949.
Temp. Captain D. B. Billing, 2nd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 27th January, 1945. Dated 1st May, 1949.
The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 71, dated 24th November, 1949, relative to Temp. Captain E. R. Pettitt, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—
“Temp. Captain E. R. Pettitt is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st July, 1944, and remains seconded to the Methven District High School Cadets, Area 10. Dated 7th November, 1949.”
Temp. Captain E. A. M. Buckman, 2nd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs. resigns his commission. Dated 16th November, 1949.
Temp. Lieutenant A. E. Kinniburgh, 1st Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 4th August, 1942. Dated 1st May, 1949.

Temp. Lieutenant J. G. Sissons, 2nd Composite Squadron, R.N.Z. Sigs., resigns his commission. Dated 16th November, 1949.

The Canterbury Regiment—
Temp. Captain A. R. Delley, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps, with the rank of Captain, with seniority from 28th September, 1944. Dated 1st May, 1949.
