Directing the Sale of Land in Block VII, Waitemata Survey District

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was taken.

Conferring the Powers of a Tribal Executive Upon a Tribal Committee

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer upon the Morven-Glenary Tribal Committee all of the powers conferred upon a Tribal Executive by the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, including the power to make by-laws, notwithstanding the provisions of section 19 or section 20 of that Act.

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Maori Purposes Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer upon the Arahura Tribal Committee all of the powers conferred upon a Tribal Executive by the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, including the power to make by-laws, notwithstanding the provisions of section 19 or section 20 of that Act.

Constituting the Orawia Rabbit District.- (Notice No. Ag. 4863)

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1938, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers' list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas the said petition is signed by a majority of the persons in the said area of land qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers' list for the said proposed district, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the "Orawia Rabbit District" and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE ORAWIA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District containing by estimation 61,600 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, situated in the Waiau Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the right bank of the Wairaki River in line with the southern boundary of Block XVIII, Wairaki Survey District; thence easterly across the Wairaki River and along the southern boundary of the aforesaid block to the Sharpridge Creek; thence south-easterly generally along the western boundaries of Block XXIV, Wairaki Survey District, Blocks I, VII, and XII, Wairio Survey District, and Blocks IV and VII, Aparima Hundred, to the northern boundary of the State Forest in Block XV, Waiau Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of the aforesaid State Forest and Section 15, Maori Hill Settlement, Block XI, Waiau Survey District, to the most southerly corner of part Section 2 of 10, Maori Hill Settlement aforesaid; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundary of part Section 2 of 10 aforesaid to a public road forming the northern boundary of the said part Section 2 of 10; thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of the aforesaid public road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part Section 1, Maori Hill Settlement aforesaid, at the intersection of the Te Tua-Merrivale Road and the Argyle-Tuatapere Main Highway; thence across the aforesaid intersection and northerly along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid part Section 1 to and across a road reserve to the left bank of the Orawia River; thence down the said left bank to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 4, Maori Hill Settlement aforesaid; thence in a north-westerly direction across the Orawia River and a road reserve to and along the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 4 to the northernmost corner thereof; thence in a south-westerly direction along the western boundaries of the said Section 4 to the easternmost corner thereof; thence due south across a road reserve and the Orawia River to the left bank of the said river; thence down the said left bank to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 139, Block XIII, Waiau Survey District; thence northerly across the Orawia River and a road reserve, to and along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 139, and that boundary produced across a road reserve and the Waiau River to its right bank; thence in a northerly direction generally along the right bank of the Waiau River to a point in line with the right bank of the Wairaki River at its confluence with the Waiau River; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the right bank of the Wairaki River to the point of commencement.
