changeover of electrical distribution system from 3,300 volts to
11,000 volts, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of one and one-half pence (1½d.) in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
in the Borough of Patea, and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years
or until the loan is fully paid off."

The Common Seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses
of the Borough of Patea was hereto affixed at the office of and
pursuant to a resolution of the Patea Borough Council in the presence

BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC POWER-BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Extension Loan No. 6 (1950), £50,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Bay of
Islands Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £50,000 (fifty thousand pounds), authorized
to be raised by the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board under
the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing additional
moneys for the further reticulation of the Bay of Islands Electric-
power District, the said Bay of Islands Electric-power Board hereby
makes and levies a special rate of ⅗₀₀₀₀d. (thirty-nine one-hundredths
of a penny) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable
property within the Bay of Islands Electric-power District; and
that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day
of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of 25 (twenty-five) years or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikato County Council
proposes to execute certain public works—to wit, the formation of roads—for which purpose the lands described in the
Schedule hereto require to be taken by the Waikato County Council
under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, sections 22
and 23. A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is
open for inspection at the office of the Te Kauwhata Town Board,
Te Kauwhata. All persons affected are hereby called upon to set
forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of
such works or to the taking of such lands and to send such writing
to the Waikato County Council, within forty days from the date
of the first publication of this notice.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME

KNOW all men by these presents that I, the undersigned
LEONARD JACK FIELDING, of 213 Cuba Street, Wellington,
in the Dominion of New Zealand, being a natural-born British
subject, and now or lately called by the surname of FLOODGATE,
do hereby absolutely renounce and abandon the use of the said
surname of FLOODGATE and in lieu thereof assume and adopt the
surname of FIELDING, and for the purpose of evidencing such change
of name I hereby declare that at all times hereafter in all records,
deeds, and documents and other writings, and in all actions, suits,
and proceedings, as well as in all dealings and transactions, matters,
and things whatsoever, and upon all occasions I shall use and
subscribe the said surname of FIELDING as my surname in lieu
of the said surname of FLOODGATE so abandoned as aforesaid, and
I therefore expressly authorize and require all persons whomsoever
at all times to designate, describe, and address me by such adopted
surname of FIELDING.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my adopted
and substituted name of LEONARD JACK FIELDING, this 5th day
of April, 1950.
