Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Pharmacy Industry

Harry Phillip Wade, Lower Kaimai, Tauranga, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at 175 Cameron Road, Tauranga.

Thomas Urquhart Halligan, High Street, Picton, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at Russell Street, Upper Hutt.

Charles Weston Taylor, 36 Victoria Street, Pukekohe, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at 168 Great South Road, Manurewa.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to Raise a Waterworks Loan of £8,150

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Town District of Onerahi, taken on the 19th day of April, 1950, on the proposal of the Onerahi Town Board to borrow the sum of eight thousand one hundred and fifty pounds for improving the water-supply system by replacing the present 4 in. main with a 6 in. main, installation of booster pump, and in such other manner as the Board may determine.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 57.

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 8.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES

Land in the Canterbury Land District for Sale or Lease

District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, 26th April, 1950.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for sale or lease under the Land Act, 1948, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 23rd June, 1950.

Applicants may be required by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, acting on behalf of the Land Settlement Board, to appear personally at a place and time to be arranged in support of the applications.

The ballot will be held on Tuesday, 27th June, 1950, at the District Lands and Survey Sub-office, Timaru, at 2 o'clock p.m. and any persons who so wish may attend.

The successful applicant is required to pay immediately on notification of result, a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent or deposit on deferred payments, broken-period rent, lease fee, or the purchase-price of the property plus title fee. In addition the amount of weighting for improvements is to be paid in cash.

SCHEDULE

WAITAKI SURVEY DISTRICT.—FARM LAND

Waimate County.—Waikakahi Settlement

SECTION 5, Block IX: Area, 269 acres 3 roods 29 perches. Renta value or purchase-price, £1,080. Deposit on deferred payments, £80. Deferred payments: Half-yearly instalment (term: 30 years), £31. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £24 6s.

Weighted with £92 10s. (payable in cash) for improvements comprising 80 chains road fencing, half-share in 130 chains boundary fencing, concrete trough and concrete-lined well.

This section is situated between Middle Road and Redcliffe Road, 7 miles west of Glenavy township and Railway-station, access being by good metalled roads. All light flat shingle land with a water-race passing through the centre of the property. All in old pasture, brown-top and twitch. Boundary fences are wire and in fair order; no subdivision fences. Gorse is confined to the Redcliffe road-line and encroaching a little on to the property. The area is suitable for sheep-grazing and with development is estimated to carry one sheep per acre.

If selected on renewable lease or under deferred-payment licence a remission of £40 rent or interest will be granted subject to all gorse on the road-line and inside the road fence being cleared, to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, within 2 years of selection.

N.B.—The property is not suitable as a separate unit and applications will be considered only from applicants with other land in the vicinity.
