Domain Board Appointed to Have Control of the Mangatainoka Domain

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Edgar Leopold Harvey,
Melville Ernest Reichenbach,
Adam Macpherson,
Ian Livingstone Macpherson, and
Oliver Holland

to be the Mangatainoka Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Library Hall, Mangatainoka, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—MANGATAINOKA DOMAIN
Sections 30, 31, and 32, Mangatainoka Village Settlement, situated in Block XVII, Mangahao Survey District: Area, 2 acres 3 roods, more or less.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Auckland Kindergarten Association (Incorporated)

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a kindergarten site: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Auckland Kindergarten Association (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Auckland Kindergarten Association (Incorporated).

Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 3rd day of May, 1950

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

PURSUANT to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the Ngati Uenuku tribe as a marae, meeting-place, and urupa.

SCHEDULE
All that area in the Wellington Land District situate in Block XVI of the Whirinaki Survey District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 28·2 perches, more or less, being part of the Maori Land Court subdivision known as Waimarino 3L 3c 1. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 21/3/210, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Maori Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Waipa County Council Required Under the Town-planning Act, 1926, to Prepare and Submit to the Town-planning Board an Extra-urban Planning Scheme for the Whole of the County Area.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1950

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

WHEREAS the Waipa County Council is the responsible authority within the meaning of the Town-planning Act, 1926, of a certain rural area as defined in the said Act—namely, the Waipa County:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor-General is of opinion that the preparation and submission of an extra-urban planning scheme for the rural area aforesaid is necessary as settlement is taking place at such a rate that the preparation of an extra-urban planning scheme is deemed advisable in the public interest and for the proper consideration of town-planning schemes which Boroughs within and adjacent to the County boundaries are required to prepare under the Town-planning Act, 1926:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by section 25 of the Town-planning Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby require the Waipa County Council to prepare and submit to the Town Planning Board, before the 30th day of April, 1952, an Extra-urban Planning Scheme in respect of the said rural area—namely, the whole of the Waipa County.

Appointment of Another Member of the Royal Commission Constituted to Inquire Into and Report Upon Claims Preferred by Certain Maori Claimants Concerning the Payment of Certain Moneys by the Aotea District Maori Land Board in Respect of the West Taupo Timber Lands and Other Matters

GEORGE THE SIXTH by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, King, Defender of the Faith:

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved DOUGLAS JAMES DALGLISH, of Wellington, a Deputy Judge of the Court of Arbitration, HUBERT MAXWELL CHRISTIE, of Wellington, Company Director, and RICHARD ORMSBY, of Te Kuiti, Farmer:

GREETING:

WHEREAS by Our Warrant of date the 6th day of December, 1949, issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His late Majesty dated the 11th day of May, 1917, and under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, the late Sir Michael Myers, and you the said Hubert Maxwell Christie, and Richard Ormsby were appointed a Commission to inquire into and report upon certain claims preferred by certain Maoris:

And whereas the said Sir Michael Myers died after the members of the Commission had entered upon their labours but before they had made any report thereof, and it is desirable to appoint another member and a new Chairman of the said Commission:

Now know Ye that We, reposing trust and confidence in your impartiality, knowledge, and ability do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint you, the said

Douglas James Dalglish,
Hubert Maxwell Christie, and
Richard Ormsby,

to be the Commissioners and members of the said Commission for the purposes and with the powers and subject to the directions specified in the said Warrant:

And We do hereby appoint you, the said

Douglas James Dalglish,

to be Chairman of the said Commission:

And we do hereby confirm the said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted save as modified by these presents.

In witness whereof We have caused this Our Commission to be issued and the Seal of Our Dominion of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington, this 26th day of April, in the year of Our Lord 1950, and in the 14th year of Our Reign.
