of the Mangarangiora Stream; thence up the middle of that stream
to the northernmost corner of Mangapoike No. 2b Block in Block
IV, Opeiti Survey District, and a right line to the north-western
corner of Whakaongaonga 2c 2 Block; thence northerly along the
generally eastern side of a road to the southernmost corner of Section
46, Block XVI, Hangaroa Survey District, being the point of
commencement.
Rongowhakaata Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the
north-western side of Reay Bridge in the middle of the Maraetaha
River in Block XI, Patutahi Survey District, and being a point on
the boundary of the Ohako Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore
described; thence north-easterly generally and southerly along
the south-eastern and western boundaries of the area and the Tarere
Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described to the confluence of
the Karaura Creek and the Waipaoa River; thence westerly up
the middle of that creek, to and along the southern side of the
Tauru Valley Road, and to the north-western side of Reay Bridge,
being the point of commencement.
Muriwai-Bartlett Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the
middle of the mouth of the Waipaoa River in Block IX, Turanganui
Survey District; thence southerly generally to and along the sea-
coast to Paritu in Block XIII, Paritu Survey District; thence
north-westerly along a right line in the direction of the junction of
the Hangaroa and Ruakituri Rivers to the south-eastern corner of
the Ohako Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence
northerly, north-easterly, and south-easterly along that boundary
and the boundaries of the Rongowhakaata and Tarere Tribal
Committee Areas hereinbefore described to a point in the middle of
the mouth of the Waipaoa River, being the point of commencement.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take, under Part II of the said Act, the lands described in the First Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 23 on the 29th day of April, 1948, at page 447:
And whereas an objection was made by the owners of the said lands in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands and claiming the right to retain portion of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke the Notice of Intention to Take issued over the said lands and did not agree to the retention area claimed in the said objection:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did offer to the owners an alternative area to be retained from the said lands:
And whereas the owners did not accept the said offer:
And whereas the Land Valuation Committee to which such objection was referred did on the 22nd day of June, 1949, make an order disallowing such objection subject to the Crown being allowed to take the limited area of the said lands described in the Second Schedule hereto:
And whereas no appeal was made against such order by the owners in the manner prescribed by the said Act:
And whereas the owners have agreed to an amended vesting date:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Second Schedule hereto are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of April, 1950, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
FIRST SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Komakorau Survey District, containing by admeasurement one thousand one hundred and sixty-five (1,165) acres one (1) rood twenty-one decimal four (21·4) perches, more or less, being part Lot 2b on Deposited Plan 7126, being portion of Allotment 224, Parish of Komakorau, and part of a block granted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, by grant dated 20th July, 1876, and being all the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 838, folio 72 (Auckland Registry).
Also all that parcel of land situated in Block VI, Komakorau Survey District, containing by admeasurement eighteen (18) acres one (1) rood thirty-three decimal five (33·5) perches, more or less, being Lot 2a and part Lot 2b on Deposited Plan 7126, being portion of Allotment 224, Parish of Komakorau, and being all the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 195, folio 297 (Auckland Registry).
SECOND SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land situated in Blocks VII and XI, Komakorau Survey District, containing by admeasurement two hundred and nineteen (219) acres three (3) roods thirty-two (32) perches, more or less, being part of Lot 2b on Deposited Plan 7126, being part of a block granted to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, by grant dated 20th July, 1876, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Vol. 893, folio 226 (Auckland Registry).
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington as Number 3049, and thereon edged red.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 32 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, the Minister of Lands doth hereby revoke the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59 on the 18th day of November, 1948, at page 1405, declaring the land described in the Schedule hereto to be taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen.
