Notice of Intention to Take Land in Blocks I and II, Town of Wanaka, for a Recreation-ground

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a recreation-ground: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Pembroke and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken:—

0 0 8 Section 24, Block I of the Town of Wanaka.
0 0 16 Sections 22 and 23, Block II of the Town of Wanaka.

In the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 130999, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Warrant Proclaiming Road Under Section 607 of the Cook Islands Act, 1915

WHEREAS by section 607 of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, as amended by the Island Territories Act, 1943, it is provided that the Minister of Island Territories may by Warrant proclaim any Crown, European, or Native land as a road:

Now, therefore, I, Frederick Widdowson Doidge, Minister of Island Territories, do hereby, in pursuance of the authority so conferred upon me, proclaim as a road the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. ALL that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 1 rood 6 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 1.

  2. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 1 rood 17 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 2.

  3. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 3 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of an unproclaimed section of the road known as the Ara Metua.

  4. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 20 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 3.

  5. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 22 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 4.

  6. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Arorangi in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 2 roods 28 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Tuoro Section 87A No. 6.

  7. All that parcel of land situate in the District of Avarua in the Island of Rarotonga, Cook Islands, containing 1 rood 22 perches, be the same a little more or less, being part of the land named by the Native Land Court Pokoinu Section 107.

The above-described parcels of land, altogether comprising one acre three roods thirty-eight perches (1 acre 3 roods 38 perches), as delineated and coloured burnt sienna in the plan numbered 48, signed by the acting Resident Commissioner of Rarotonga, and deposited in the office of the Registrar of the High Court of the Cook Islands at Rarotonga.

The Standards Act, 1941.—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification: D. 3003. Preservation of Tawa and Taire for Use in the Manufacture of Furniture and Dowels

NOTICE is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand Standard Specification is now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment is the 30th June, 1950.

All persons who may be affected by this specification once it has been been declared a Standard Specification by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for comments, obtain, on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the draft and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.
