Varying a Proclamation Proclaiming a Tribal District Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section six of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby vary the Proclamation made on the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette on the eleventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, at page 265, declaring certain parts of New Zealand to be a tribal district for the purposes of the said Act, by excluding from the Schedule thereto the description of the Waitemata Tribal District and substituting therefor the description appearing in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
WAITEMATA TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, being the whole of the counties of Waitemata and Great Barrier Island, that portion of Eden County comprising the Auckland Hospital Reserve and the Auckland Domain, the City of Auckland, the Boroughs of Birkenhead, Devonport, Ellerslie, Helensville, Henderson, Mount Albert, Mount Eden, Mount Roskill, New Lynn, Newmarket, Northcote, Onehunga, One Tree Hill, Otahuhu, and Takapuna, the Town District of Glen Eden, the Road District of Mount Wellington, and Panmure Township, and including therein the islands of Motuihe, Motutapu, Pine, Rangitoto, Waiheke, and other small adjacent islands.
Also all that area, being portions of the Manukau County and Harbour, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Titirangi Survey District, on the line of mean high-water spring tide of the Manukau Harbour and in the middle of Waikowhai Road, and running easterly generally along the aforesaid line of mean high-water, to and along the south-eastern boundary of part of Allotment 7 of Section 17 of the Suburbs of Auckland, along a right line across the Newmarket-Westfield Railway, to and along the southern boundary of part of Allotment 6A of Section 17 aforesaid, and along another right line to a point in the middle of the Great South Road and in line with the middle of Sylvia Park Avenue; thence southerly generally along the middle of the said Great South Road, to and along the eastern side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to the middle of Massey Road; then south-westerly and westerly generally along the middle of Massey Road aforesaid, to and along the middle of Ascot Road to the line of mean high-water aforesaid; thence north-westerly generally along a right line across the said Manukau Harbour to the point of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of March, 1950.

Altering the Boundaries of the Waitaki Electric-power District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby alter the boundaries of the Waitaki Electric-power District so as to include the area described in the Schedule hereto, the said area being part of the existing Outer Area of the South Canterbury Electric-power District.

All that area in the Waimate County bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Waitaki River on the boundary of the Waimate County and proceeding thence north-easterly, south-easterly, easterly, south-easterly, easterly, south-easterly, and north-easterly along the Waimate County boundary to the Mount Nimrod Trig.
