Declaring Certain Crown Land to be Subject to Part I of the Maori
Land Amendment Act, 1936

A PROCLAMATION
PUSUANT to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1939,
I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject
to Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act, 1936, and included in
the Ngataki Development Scheme.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area of land in the Mangonui County containing by ad-
measurement 8 acres 2 roods and 10.7 perches, more or less, being
Section 2, Block V, Hohoura East Survey District. As the same
is more particularly delineated on the plan numbered L. and S.
34713, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion; this 24th day of March, 1950.

Proclaiming a Tribal District Under the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act, 1945

A PROCLAMATION
PUSUANT to section six of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act, 1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard
Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the parts of New Zealand described in
the Schedule hereto to be a tribal district for the purposes of the
said Act, and do hereby assign to the said district the name “Waipa
Tribal District.”
SCHEDULE
THE WAIPA TRIBAL DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the intersection of the boundary of the Otoro-
hanga County as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1926 at page
1097, and a right line between Trig. Station T (Rock Peak) in Block I,
Orahiri Survey District, and the south-western corner of Orahiri
No. 1A Block in Block III, Orahiri Survey District; thence pro-
ceeding westerly and north-easterly generally along the said county
boundary to Trig. Station Te Ake-o-Hikopiro in Block VI, Pirongia
Survey District, and along a right line to Trig. Station Mahaukura
in Block III, Pirongia Survey District; thence north-westerly
along a right line to Trig. Station Tahuanui in Block II, Pirongia
Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the
southernmost corner of Section 204, Tuhikaramea Parish in Block
XII, Alexandra Survey District; thence easterly along a right
line to the southernmost corner of Section 112, Te Rapa Parish in
Block VII, Hamilton Survey District, and its production to the
middle of the Waikato River; thence south-easterly generally up
the middle of that river to the western boundary of the Borough
of Cambridge as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1886 at page
985; thence northerly, easterly, and southerly along the western,
northern, and eastern boundaries of that borough to the middle of
the Waikato River; thence south-easterly and southerly generally
up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Waipapa
Stream in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District; thence westerly
along a right line to Trig. Station Te Ranga in Block XIV, Whare-
papa Survey District, and a right line to a point in the middle of
the Mangatutu Stream in line with the southern boundary of the
eastern portion of Rangitoto A No. 27B Block in Block XIII, Whare-
papa Survey District; thence northerly down the middle of the
Mangatutu Stream to its confluence with the Puniu River; thence
south-westerly along a right line to a point in the middle of the
Waipa River in line with the southern boundary of Section 18,
Block XVI, Pirongia Survey District; thence southerly generally
up the middle of the Waipa River, to and up the middle of the
Mangapu Stream to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary
of Pukeroa-Hangatiki No. 7c 2 Block in Block VIII, Orahiri Survey
District; thence north-westerly along a right line to Te Puhi Trig.
Station in Block III, Orahiri Survey District, and a right line to the
south-western corner of Orahiri 1A Block; thence south-westerly
along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station T (Rock Peak)
to its intersection with the boundary of the Otorohanga County,
the point of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of March, 1950.

said Act, and do hereby assign to the said district the name
“Manukau Tribal District.”
SCHEDULE
THE MANUKAU TRIBAL DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Manukau and the Borough of
Papatoetoe, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VI,
Otahuhu Survey District, being the point of intersection of the
middle of Massey Road with the middle of the North Island Main
Trunk Railway and running south-easterly generally along the
middle of the aforesaid railway to a point in line with the southern
boundary of Lot 13, as shown on the plan numbered 28571,
deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, being part of
Allotment 4 of Clendon’s Grant, Parish of Papakura; thence along
a right line, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 13 aforesaid,
along the southern boundary of Lot 10, as shown on the aforesaid
plan numbered 28571, and along a right line across Roscommon
Road, to and down the right bank of the stream forming the northern
boundary of part of Allotment 6 of the aforesaid Clendon’s Grant,
as shown on the plan numbered 22737, deposited as aforesaid, to
and along the right bank of the Puhinui Creek to the line of mean
high-water spring tide of the Manukau Harbour; thence north-
westerly and north-easterly generally along the line of mean high
water aforesaid to the middle of Ascot Road; thence easterly
generally along the middle of Ascot Road aforesaid, to and along
the middle of Massey Road to the point of commencement, including
therein Wiroa and Puketutu or Week’s Islands.
Also all that area in the County of Franklin, the Boroughs of
Pukekohe, and the Town District of Waiuku, bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block XIII, Titirangi Survey District,
being the South Head of the Manukau Harbour and running
easterly generally along the line of mean high-water spring tide of
the aforesaid Manukau Harbour and the Pahurehure Inlet, to and
up the middle of the Hingaia Creek to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Lot 10 as shown on the plan numbered 12864,
deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, being part of
Allotment 36, Opaheke Parish; thence south-easterly generally
along a right line to the easternmost corner of Allotment 53 of the
aforesaid Opaheke Parish and being situated in Block IX, Opaheke
Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along a right
line to the northernmost corner of part of Allotment 9 of Pukekohe
Parish, as shown on the plan numbered 3811, deposited as afore-
said, and being situated in Block III, Onewhero Survey District;
thence southerly generally along another right line to the northern-
most corner of Allotment 106, of Tuakau Parish; thence south-
westerly generally along the north-western boundary of Allotment
106 aforesaid, and along a right line, being that boundary produced
to the right bank of the Waikato River; thence again south-
westerly generally along the right bank of the Waikato River
aforesaid to the sea-coast; thence north-westerly generally along
the sea-coast to the South Head of the Manukau Harbour, being
the point of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of March, 1950.

commencing at the mouth of the Waiwhakaata Stream forming
the northern boundary of Tawhiti No. 2c in Block IVA, Tokomaru
Survey District; thence southerly generally along the sea-coast to
the north-eastern boundary of Pakarae No. IA Block; thence north-
westerly generally along that boundary and the northern boundary
