District, along a right line to Trig. Station Te Taumutu, situated
in Block XVI, Heruiwi Survey District aforesaid, and along another
right line to a point, being the intersection of a right line from the
northernmost point of Lake Waikaremoana and passing through
a point 180 chains due north of Trig. Station Maungataniwha,
situated in Block XIV, Tuatawhata Survey District, with a right
line between Trig. Station No. 76A, Tawhiwhau, situated in Block
XIV, Galatea Survey District, and Trig. Station No. 69, Tataokino,
situated in Block VIII, Tarawera Survey District; thence along a
right line to a point in the middle of the Te Hoe River and in line
with the south-western boundary of Heruiwi No. 4 Block; thence
south-westerly generally down the middle of the said Te Hoe River,
to and up the middle of the Mohaka River to a point in line with the
production north-easterly of a right line between Trig. Station No.
68A and Trig. Station No. 65A; thence along the aforesaid right line to
Trig, Station No. 65A aforesaid; thence westerly generally along a right
line to Trig. Station No. 26, Tawheketewhango, along a right line
to Trig. Station No. 27, along a right line to Trig. Station No. 28,
Manukaiapu, and along another right line to Trig. Station Ruapehu,
situated in Block XI, Ruapehu Survey District; thence northerly
generally along a right line to Trig. Station H, Paretetaitonga,
situated in Block XI aforesaid, along a right line to Trig. Station D,
Ngaurohoe, situated in Block XVI, Tongariro Survey District, along
a right line to Trig. Station Tongariro, situated in Block XII,
Tongariro Survey District, aforesaid, and along another right line
to the western shore of Lake Taupo at the mouth of the Waihi
Stream; thence along the western shore of Lake Taupo aforesaid,
to and along the western boundaries of Tihoi Nos. 1 and part 3B
Blocks, along the southern and western boundaries of Tihoi No.
3B 8A Block, to and along another part of the western boundary
of part Tihoi No. 3B Block aforesaid, to Trig. Station No. 1390,
Pureora, situated in Block III, Hurakia Survey District; thence
along a right line to the source of the Ongarue River, and along
another right line in the direction of Trig. Station No. 1641, Rangitoto,
situated in Block IV, Pakaumanu Survey District, to the south-
eastern boundary of Maraeroa B No. 3B 2 Block; thence along the
south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the aforesaid block, to its
northernmost corner; thence along the western boundary of part of
Pouakani Block, to and down the middle of the Waiteti Stream, and
down the middle of the Waipapa Stream to the point of commencement;
save and excepting thereout the Taupo Town District, as
described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16, of the 21st day of March,
1946, page 347.

TOKOROA RIDING, COUNTY OF MATAMATA

All that area in the South Auckland Land District, situated in
Matamata County, bounded by a line, commencing at a point in
Block VIII, Wharepapa Survey District, in the middle of the
Waikato River and in line with the southern boundary of the land
as shown on the plan numbered 21718, deposited in the office of the
District Land Registrar at Auckland, being parts of Matanuku
Nos. 2c 2, 2f 2, and 2h 2 Blocks and running easterly generally along
a right line, to and along the southern and eastern boundaries of the
land as shown on the plan numbered 21718 aforesaid, along the
eastern boundary of another portion of Matanuku No. 2b 2 Block,
the southern and eastern boundaries of Matanuku No. 3 Block, and
the south-western boundary of part of Lot 1, as shown on the plan
numbered 22069, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Section 43c of
Selwyn Settlement, to a point 100 chains south-east from Trig.
Station 817, situated in Block V, Patetere South Survey District,
and on the south-western boundary of the said part of Lot 1; thence
along a right line to the point of intersection of the middle of the
Waipa Stream with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, as shown
on the plan numbered 22069, aforesaid; thence along the aforesaid
north-eastern boundary, to and down the middle of the Waioraka
Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2,
as shown on the plan numbered 29557, deposited as aforesaid, being
part of Pakuranga No. 2B Block and Section 42 of Block II and
Section 46 of Block VII, Patetere South Survey District, aforesaid ;
thence along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary
of the said Lot 2, along another right line across a public road, to and
along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of Lot 3, as shown on
the aforesaid plan numbered 29557, the south-eastern boundary
of Lot 3, as shown on the plan numbered 23248, deposited as afore-
said, being part of Section 43A, of the aforesaid Selwyn Settlement,
and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced
to the middle of the Paraonui Road; thence along the middle of
that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of
Section 54, Block III, Patetere South Survey District, aforesaid ;
thence along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary
of the aforesaid Section 54, along another right line, across the Taupo
Totara Timber Company's Railway, to and along the south-eastern
boundary of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 27415, deposited
as aforesaid, being part of Section 44 of the said settlement, and along
a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the
middle of the public road forming the south-eastern and north-
eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Lot 1 ; thence northerly generally
along the middle of that road to and along the middle of the Waitoa-
Waiarakei Main Highway, along the middle of the public road
forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 30, Block XV, Pate-
tere North Survey District, to and along the middle of the aforesaid
Taupo Totara Timber Company's Railway to a point in line with the
south-eastern boundary of Section 32 (Putaruru Domain), Block XI,
Patetere North Survey District, aforesaid ; thence along a right line,
to and along the south-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 32,
and along another right line, being that boundary produced to the
middle of the Auckland-Rotorua Railway; thence easterly generally
along the middle of that railway to the eastern boundary of the
Matamata County, as hereinbefore described; thence southerly,
westerly, and northerly along the boundary of the aforesaid county
to the point of commencement.

Altering Boundaries of Counties of Rotorua and Taupo and Adding
Area to South Riding, County of Rotorua

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 15th day of
March, 1950
Present:
THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, at the request of the Rotorua County Council,
the Local Government Commission, in pursuance of the
provisions of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, has
made inquiry into certain proposals for an alteration of the
boundaries of the County of Rotorua and the County of Taupo :
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act,
the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme
bearing date the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-nine, providing for the exclusion of the area described
in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Taupo and
the inclusion of such area in the County of Rotorua :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final
scheme and to make supplementary provisions for giving full effect
to such scheme:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the Local Government Commission
Act, 1946, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in
that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby
declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand
nine hundred and fifty, the area described in the First Schedule
hereto shall be excluded from the County of Taupo and included
in the County of Rotorua; that the boundaries of the Counties of
Rotorua and Taupo as so altered shall be those set forth under
the respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto; that the
area added as aforesaid to the County of Rotorua shall be included
in the South Riding of that county; that the boundaries of the
South Riding as so altered shall be those set forth in the Third
Schedule hereto ; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby
also declare that the alteration of boundaries of the said counties
hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the
Counties Act, 1920.

FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF TAUPO AND INCLUDED IN
COUNTY OF ROTORUA

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District in the Taupo County
containing approximately 122,000 acres, bounded by a line com-
mencing at a point in Block XI, Paeroa Survey District, being
the intersection of the boundary of the Taupo County as described
in New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the 12th day of January, 1933,
page 12, with the western boundary of the State forest as described
in New Zealand Gazette No. 73, of the 12th day of October, 1922,
page 2717, and running southerly generally along the western
boundary of the State forest described as aforesaid, to and along
the western boundaries of the State forests as described in New
Zealand Gazettes No. 4, of the 21st day of January, 1926, page 130,
No. 6, of the 10th day of February, 1944, page 120, No. 59, of the
18th day of August, 1927, page 2692, and No. 60, of the 21st day of
August, 1930, page 2639, respectively, to the southernmost corner
of Lot 2 as shown on the plan numbered 15253, deposited in the
office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of
the Kaingaroa No. 2 West No. 1 Block ; thence north-westerly
generally along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 2, to
and down the middle of the Paetataramoa Stream, to and down
the middle of the Waikato River, to and up the middle of the
Whangapoa Stream, to and up the middle of the stream forming
part of the north-east boundary of Lot 2 as shown on the plan
numbered 15486, deposited as aforesaid, being part of the Whaka-
maru Maungaiti Block, to and along the southern side of the Rotorua-
Atiamuri Main Highway to a point in line with the eastern boundary
of part of Lot 2 as shown on the plan numbered 25102, being part
of the Whakamaru Maungaiti Block aforesaid; thence along a
right line across the said Rotorua-Atiamuri Main Highway, to and
along the eastern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, and along the
eastern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 25102
aforesaid, being another part of the said Whakamaru Maungaiti
Block, to the boundary of the Taupo County aforesaid; thence
easterly generally along the said county boundary to the point
of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE
COUNTY OF ROTORUA

ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, bounded by
a line commencing at a point in Block II, Rotorua Survey District,
being the point of intersection of the eastern boundary of the
Matamata County with the south-western boundary of Section 3,
of Block II, aforesaid, and running easterly generally along the
southern boundary of the Tauranga County to the intersection of
the northern boundary of Section 12, Block VII, Rotorua Survey
District, with a right line between the south-eastern corner of
Section 6, of Block VI, Waihi South Survey District, and the
north-western corner of part of Section 15, of Block XI, Rotoma
Survey District aforesaid ; thence southerly generally along a right
line, to and along the western boundary of the aforesaid Section 15
the western boundary of part of Allotment 63, Parish of Matamata,
to the south-western corner of that allotment; thence along a
right line to Trig. Station No. 18, Maungawhakamana, situated
in Block III, Ruawahia Survey District, along another right line
passing through Trig. Station No. 38, Ahiwhakamura, situated
in Block X, Kaingaroa Survey District, to its intersection with a
right line between Trig. Station No. 76A, Tawhiwhau, situated in
Block XIV, Galatea Survey District, and Trig. Station No. 31,
Paeroa, situated in Block V, Paeroa Survey District; thence
