Amending an Order in Council Appointing Five Non-elective Members
of the South Canterbury Catchment Board

Present:
THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941,
and section seven of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control
Amendment Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend
the Order in Council dated the third day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the
fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at
page 1626, appointing five non-elective members of the South
Canterbury Catchment Board by deleting

Chief Surveyor, Department of Lands and Survey, Christchurch,

and substituting

Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of
Canterbury, Department of Lands and Survey, Christ-
church.

Pursuant to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act,
1941, and section seven of the Soil Conservation and Rivers
Control Amendment Act, 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
amend the Order in Council dated the third day of August, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, and published in the Gazette
of the fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-
nine, at page 1625, appointing five non-elective members of the
Wairarapa Catchment Board by deleting

Field Inspector, Department of Lands and Survey, Masterton,

and substituting

Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of
Wellington, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Glenorchy Rabbit
District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4809)

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of
December, 1949
Present:
THE HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section
twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947,
His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister
of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruc-
tion Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council, doth hereby—

(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the Glenorchy Rabbit
District by adding thereto the area of land the boundaries
of which are described in the First Schedule hereto ;

(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district as so altered
and redefined shall be those set forth in the Second
Schedule hereto ; and, further,

(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force
on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE
GLENORCHY RABBIT DISTRICT

All that area in the Otago Land District and Lake County con-
taining 62,000 acres, more or less, being parts of Glenorchy, Earnslaw,
and Skippers Creek Survey Districts, bounded as follows : Com-
mencing at the north-eastern corner of Block V, Earnslaw Survey
District ; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Earnslaw
Survey District to the eastern boundary of Run 18 ; thence southerly
and south-easterly along the eastern and north-eastern boundary
of Run 18 to Mount Aurum ; thence generally southerly along the
eastern boundary of Run 14 and down Stony Stream to the southern
boundary of Run 346D ; thence westerly, southerly, and westerly
along the southern boundary of Run 346D to the eastern boundary
of Block VII, Glenorchy Survey District ; thence northerly up the
eastern boundaries of Blocks VII, IV, and I, Glenorchy Survey
District, and Block XV, Earnslaw Survey District, to Trig. A
3,694 ft. ; thence north-easterly by a straight line to the north-eastern
corner of Block V, Earnslaw Survey District, the point of com-
mencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE GLENORCHY RABBIT DISTRICT

All that area in the Otago Land District and Lake County con-
taining 135,000 acres, more or less, and being parts of Glenorchy,
Skippers Creek, Earnslaw, Dart, and Upper Wakatipu Survey
Districts, and bounded as follows : Commencing at the mouth of
Shepherds Hut Stream on the shore of Lake Wakatipu ; thence
north-easterly, northerly, and easterly up the said stream and along
the southern boundary of Run 346D, Glenorchy Survey District,
to Stony Stream ; thence northerly up Stony Stream to and along
the eastern boundary of Run 14, Skippers Creek Survey District
to Mount Aurum ; thence north-westerly and northerly along the
eastern boundary of Run 18, through Mount Ferguson, Earnslaw
Survey District, to the northern boundary of that District ; thence
westerly along the northern boundary of Earnslaw Survey District
to its western boundary ; thence southerly along that western
boundary to the northern boundary of Dart Survey District ; thence
westerly along the northern boundary of Dart Survey District to
the centre of the main stream of the Dart River ; thence generally
southerly down the centre of the main stream of the Dart River
to the shore of Lake Wakatipu ; thence generally south-easterly
along the shore of Lake Wakatipu to the point of commencement.
