NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called the said Corporation) proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, to widen Barclay Street in the City of Dunedin—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto requires to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Municipal Chambers of the said Corporation situated in the Octagon, in the said City of Dunedin, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.
SCHEDULE
That piece of land containing 0·38 poles, being part Lot 5, Block I, D.P. 39, Township of Duddingstone, in the Land District of Otago. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan above mentioned, and thereon coloured blue.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR CONVERSION LOAN EIGHTH REPAYMENT LOAN, 1949, OF £91,900
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £91,900, authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying portion of the City of Dunedin Conversion Loan, 1934, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of three (3) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on Monday, 24th January, 1949.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR ELECTRICITY LOAN, 1948, OF £300,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300,000, authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of the Waipori Falls Electrical Power Act, 1904, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three and three-eighths pence (3⅜d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on Monday, 24th January, 1949.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order made by the Honourable Mr. Justice Stanton on the 23rd day of December, 1948, it was ordered that the scheme submitted by the executors under the last will and testament and codicil thereto of the above-named Harold Willey Hudson in respect of the sum of £4,410 5s., representing two one-sixth shares of the residuary estate of the said deceased, bequeathed to the executors of the said deceased for the purposes of setting up scholarships, to be known respectively as “The William Hudson Scholarship” and “The Evan Gibb Hudson Scholarship,” be and the same was thereby approved.
