At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of February, 1949

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, and to section twenty-nine of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto being an area to which subsection one of section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, applies, a rabbit district, and doth appoint that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Ida Valley Rabbit District, and doth order that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.


SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE IDA VALLEY RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Vincent and Maniototo Counties, being parts of Blackstone, Idaburn, Tiger Hill, Poolburn, Manor, and Manorside Survey Districts, containing approximately 96,600 acres, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Run 587, being the south-western corner of Section 2, Block XIII, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence south-easterly along the northern boundaries of aforesaid run and Section 5, Block XIII, Tiger Hill Survey District, and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Run 587, and by Astons Road along the north-western boundaries of Sections 10, 3, and 16, Block XII, Tiger Hill Survey District, to the western corner of Run 261P; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Runs 261P and 261O to the westernmost corner of Run 261O; thence north-easterly in a straight line along Ida Valley road and its production to Penglase Road; thence south-easterly along said road to the south-western corner of Section 13, Block II, Poolburn Survey District; thence north-easterly along the Moa Creek—Poolburn Road and Ida Valley Back Road to its junction with the Omakau—Wedderburn Main Highway No. 227; thence generally north-easterly along the said main highway to Trig. I (Mount Ida); thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Run 306A, Idaburn and Naseby Survey Districts, to the northern corner of Run 306; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of Run 306 aforesaid to the Wedderburn—Naseby Plantation Road; thence westerly along that road to the Palmerston—Clyde Main Highway; thence south-easterly along that highway to its intersection with the Gimmerburn—Naseby Road; thence south-westerly along that road to Allison Lane; thence westerly along Allison Lane to the Wedderburn—Gimmerburn Road; thence southerly along that road to Barneys Lane; thence westerly along Barneys Lane to Devon Road; thence southerly along Devon Road to the southern boundary of Section 12, Block II, Gimmerburn Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 12, Block II, and Sections 9, 6, and 15, Block I, and Section 1 and Run 225Y, Block X, Gimmerburn Survey District, to the Highfield Runs Road; thence southerly and westerly along that road and the road forming the southern boundary of Run 261K to the south-western corner of Run 261K; thence generally north-easterly along the western boundaries of Runs 261K, 225W, 225V, 225U, and the north-western boundaries of Runs 225T, 225DD, 225AA, 225A, 225K, and 225L, Gimmerburn Survey District, and Sections 5, 4, and 3, Block XII, and Sections 13 and 12, Block X, Naseby Survey District, and Run 306A in Idaburn Survey District to Trig. Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £3,169 by the Amuri County Council and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Amuri County Council (hereinafter called the said local authority) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section three of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1928, to borrow the sum of three thousand one hundred and sixty-nine pounds (£3,169), by a loan to be known as “ Main Highways Loan, 1949 ” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose of providing the Council's share of the cost of reconstruction and sealing work on the Red Post—Rotheram section of the Red Post—Kaikoura Main Highway:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of three thousand one hundred and sixty-nine pounds (£3,169), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—

(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall be five (5) years.

(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender a rate exceeding three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.

(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual instalments extending over the term as determined in (1) above.

(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.
