Stratford Abattoir District Extended.—(Notice No. Ag. 4792)

Department of Agriculture,
Wellington, 21st October, 1949.

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Meat Act, 1939, and on the application by the Stratford Borough Council, the controlling authority of the abattoir established and maintained for the Stratford Abattoir District, the Minister of Agriculture doth hereby declare that on and from the 1st day of January, 1950, all that part of the County of Stratford, firstly described in the Schedule hereto, and all that part of the County of Inglewood, secondly described in the said Schedule, shall be and the same are hereby included in the said abattoir district, and that the Stratford Borough Council shall be the controlling authority of the abattoir for the said abattoir district as hereby extended.

SCHEDULE

FIRSTLY, all that part of the County of Stratford enclosed by a boundary commencing at the point in Block XVI, Egmont Survey District, where the boundary between the Stratford and Inglewood counties intersects the Radius Line; thence eastwards by such county boundary to the eastern boundary of Block X, Huiora Survey District; thence southwards by the said eastern boundary of Block X, Huiora Survey District, to the Ackland Road; thence by the said Ackland Road and by Stanley and Makuri and Waiwiri Roads to the intersection of Waiwiri and Ohura Roads; thence southwards generally by the western boundaries of Blocks IV and VIII, Ngaere Survey District, to the boundary between the Stratford and Eltham counties; thence westwards by such county boundary to the Mangatoki Stream; thence northwards by the said Mangatoki Stream to the Radius Line; thence northwards by the said Radius Line to the boundary between the Stratford and Inglewood counties and point of commencement.

Secondly, all that part of the County of Inglewood enclosed by a boundary commencing at the point in Block XII, Moa Survey District, where the Norfolk Road intersects the Radius Line; thence northwards by the said Norfolk Road to the intersection of the said Norfolk Road and Suffolk Road; thence southwards by the said Suffolk Road to the northern boundary of Block V, Huiora Survey District; thence eastwards by such last-mentioned northern boundary and the northern boundary of the said Block VI to the eastern boundary of the said Block VI; thence southwards by the eastern boundaries of the said Block VI and Block X, Huiora Survey District, to the Ackland Road; thence by the said Ackland Road and by Stanley and Makuri and Waiwiri Roads to the intersection of Waiwiri and Ohura Roads; thence southwards generally by the western boundaries of Blocks IV and VIII, Ngaere Survey District, to the boundary between the Stratford and Eltham counties; thence westwards by such county boundary to the Mangatoki Stream; thence northwards by the said Mangatoki Stream to the Radius Line; thence northwards by the said Radius Line to the Norfolk Road and point of commencement.

Amending Speed Limitations Imposed Under the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant dated the 27th day of July, 1937*, in so far as it applies to the roads described in the First Schedule hereto and doth hereby exclude those portions of roads described in the Second Schedule hereto from the limitations as to speed imposed by the said section.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Eltham Borough—

Auckland–Wellington, via Taranaki, Main Highway No. 1 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Eltham Borough to the junction of the main highway with Moir Street, a distance of approximately 38 chains; and all that portion from the junction of the main highway with Conway Road to the southern boundary of Eltham Borough, a distance of approximately 67 chains).

Eltham – Rawhitiroa Main Highway No. 39 (all that portion from the junction of the main highway with Kegworth Street to the eastern boundary of Eltham Borough, a distance of approximately 51 chains).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Eltham Borough—

New Plymouth – Hawera State Highway No. 10 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Eltham Borough as now constituted, to a point 5 chains measured along the said State highway, in a northerly direction from its junction with Moir Street, a distance of approximately 33 chains; and all that portion from the southern boundary to a point 5 chains measured in a southerly direction along the said State highway from its junction with Conway Road, a distance of approximately 62 chains.)

Opunake – Rawhitiroa Main Highway No. 822 (all that portion from the junction of the main highway with Kegworth Street to the eastern boundary of Eltham Borough as now constituted, a distance of approximately 51 chains.)

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Revocation of Notice of Intention to Take Land

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52 on the 30th day of September, 1948, at page 1236 :

And whereas the Minister of Lands has decided not to proceed with action to take the said lands :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of subsection (4) of section 24 of the said Act, doth hereby revoke the notice of intention to take the said lands.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement two hundred and one (201) acres, more or less, being Rural Section 158, Okotuku District, Block VI, Wairoa Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 4, folio 179 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement fifty (50) acres, more or less, being Rural Section 160, Okotuku District, Block VI, Wairoa Survey District, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 345, folio 72 (Wellington Registry).

NOTICE is hereby given that the draft New Zealand standard specifications appearing in the first column hereunder are now being circulated to affected interests for consideration and comment. The closing date fixed for such comment appears in the second column hereunder :—

All persons who may be affected by these specifications once they have been declared standard specifications by the Minister of Industries and Commerce may, at any time before the closing date for receipt of comments, obtain on application, free copies from the New Zealand Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, Wellington, so as to have an opportunity to consider the drafts and to comment thereon to the Standards Council or to an appropriate committee of the Council in accordance with subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act, 1941.

Notice to Persons Affected by Application for a Licence Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

Kaeo Motors, Ltd., P.O. Box 117, Kaitaia, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on proposed garage and service station premises at Kaeo, Whangaroa County.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application should, not later than 10th November, 1949, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
