Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section twenty-five of the Town-planning Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council doth hereby require the Manukau County Council to prepare and submit to the Town-planning Board before the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifty, an extra-urban planning scheme in respect of the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District comprising the Mangere, Pakuranga, and Papatoetoe Ridings of Manukau County (as described in the New Zealand Gazette of 1920, pages 1772 and 1773), and parts of the Papakura and Wairoa Ridings of Manukau County, from the Papatoetoe Riding boundary at the south-western corner of Allotment 95, Parish of Manurewa (New Zealand Gazette 1920, page 1773); thence in a south-east direction along the south boundaries of Allotments 95 and part 96 and the southern side of Richardson Road to the Manurewa-Howick Main Highway, along the northern side of the said main highway to Alfriston-Ardmore Road; thence along the south-western side of Alfriston-Ardmore Road, and the north-east boundary of part Allotment 49, Parish of Papakura, to the Papakura-Kawakawa Main Highway; thence in a southerly direction by a right line to the boundary between Manukau County and Franklin County at the north-east corner of Allotment 146; thence along the north boundary of Allotment 146 and along the south boundary of Allotments 29, 28, and part 27, Parish of Hunua, to the Papakura Borough boundary at the said part Allotment 27, Parish of Hunua (as described in New Zealand Gazette 1938, page 470); thence along the said borough boundary to the south-western corner of Allotment 4 of Section 8, Village of Papakura (as described in New Zealand Gazette 1938, page 470); thence along the high-water mark of Pahurehure Inlet and Manukau Harbour, and Puhinui Creek, to the boundary of Papatoetoe and Papakura Ridings at the Intersection of Puhinui Creek and the centre line of Browns Road (as described in New Zealand Gazette 1920, page 1772–73); thence along centre of Browns Road to the Manurewa Borough boundary, and by the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Manurewa Borough (as described in New Zealand Gazette 1937, page 2438) to the ridings boundary at the centre of Orams Road (as described in New Zealand Gazette 1920, page 1773) and along the said boundary between Papatoetoe and Papakura Ridings to the aforesaid south-western corner of Allotment 95, Parish of Manurewa.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Waitemata County Council is the responsible authority within the meaning of the Town-planning Act, 1926, of a certain rural area as defined in the said Act—namely, the Waitemata County:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor-General is of opinion that the preparation and submission of an extra-urban planning scheme for a certain defined portion of the said rural area—namely, the area described in the Schedule hereto—is necessary as settlement is taking place at such a rate that the preparation of such an extra-urban planning scheme is deemed advisable in the public interest and for the proper consideration of town-planning schemes which boroughs adjacent to the County boundaries are required to prepare under the Town-planning Act, 1926:

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Waitemata County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block III, Waiwera Survey District, in the middle of the Waiwera River and in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 104, Waiwera Parish, and running easterly generally down the middle of the said river, to the sea-coast; thence southerly generally along the sea-coast aforesaid, to and along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the Borough of Takapuna, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 61, of the 27th day of August, 1925, page 2492, along the line of mean high-water of Shoal Bay, to and along the northern and western boundaries of the Borough of Northcote, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 104, of the 12th day of December, 1907, page 3485, along the original line of mean high-water of Little Shoal Bay, to and along the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Birkenhead, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18, of the 21st day of March, 1935, page 747, along the line of mean high-water of the Waitemata Harbour, to and along the western boundary of the Borough of New Lynn, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 8th day of June, 1939, page 1728, along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of the Glen Eden Town District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 8th day of June, 1939, page 1729, along the southern boundary of the Borough of New Lynn, aforesaid, to and along the western boundary of the City of Auckland, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 45, of the 15th day of June, 1939, page 1828, to the line of mean high-water ordinary spring tide of the Manukau Harbour; thence westerly generally along the line of mean high-water ordinary spring tide, aforesaid, to and up the middle of the Nihotopu River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Allotment N.W. 79, Karangahape Parish; thence along a right line in the direction of the western corner of that allotment, to and along the middle of the public road forming the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of the aforesaid Allotment N.W. 79 and part of the north-western boundary of Allotment N.W. 78 of the aforesaid Parish, to the middle of the public road forming the eastern boundary of Allotment 77 of the aforesaid Parish; thence northerly generally along the middle of the aforesaid public road, to and along the middle of the Waikumete–West Coast Main Highway, the middle of McElwain’s Road, and the middle of Cutty Grass Road to the western boundary of the (Waitakerei Scenic Drive) Extra-urban Planning Scheme Area, as shown on the plans numbered 31533 and 31535, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, at Auckland; thence along the western boundary of the aforesaid Extra-urban Planning Scheme Area to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Allotment 86, Waitakerei Parish, to and along the middle of the public road through Allotment 9 of the aforesaid Parish to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 10692, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Allotment 9, aforesaid; thence along a right line, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, aforesaid, the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 16, Waipareira Parish, to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 15, the abutment of a public road, the south-western and north-western boundaries of Lot 8, the north-western boundaries of Lots 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, as shown on the plan numbered 11093, deposited as aforesaid, being part of the aforesaid Allotment 16, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence along the north-eastern boundary of the land, as shown on the plan numbered 10519, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Allotment 16 aforesaid, and along a right line across a public road, to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 16, 15, and 14, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of part of Lot 9, as shown on the plan numbered 13885, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Allotment 16 aforesaid, and Allotment 29, of the aforesaid Parish, to and along the eastern boundary of Allotment 139A, along a right line across Hunters Road, to and along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 140 and 141, the aforesaid allotments being of the aforesaid Waipareira Parish, along the eastern boundary of Lot 30, as shown on the plan numbered Whau 56, lodged in the office of the Registrar of Deeds at Auckland, being part of Taupaki Block, along a right line across a public road, to and along the eastern side of the Swanson–Kumeu Road and along a right line across that road to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 15 and 11, as shown on the plan numbered 65, lodged as aforesaid, being part of the aforesaid Taupaki Block, the abutment of a public road, the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 9 and 1, as shown on the plan numbered 91, lodged as aforesaid, being part of the aforesaid Taupaki Block, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Tawa Road; thence along the middle of Tawa Road, aforesaid, to and along the middle of Station Road and along a right line, being the middle line of that road produced to the middle of the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway; thence along the middle of the aforesaid railway to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 20, as shown on the plan numbered 10457, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Waikoukou Block and Te Ihumatao Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks; thence along a right line, to and along the eastern boundary Lot 20 aforesaid, the eastern boundaries of Lots 19, 18, and 1, as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 10457, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of Motua Road; thence along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 22, as shown on the plan numbered 5059, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Waikoukou Block aforesaid; thence along a right line, to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 22 aforesaid, and along another right line, being that boundary produced to the middle of the Kumeu River; thence down the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of part of Allotment 88, Paremoremo Parish; thence along a right line, to and along the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Allotment 88, the southern boundary of the State forest, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18, of the 13th day of March, 1930, page 737, to and along the northern side of a public road, along the northern side of the Old North Road, to and along the western boundary of Lot 2, as shown on the plan numbered 26674, deposited as aforesaid, being parts of Allotments 90 and 91 of the aforesaid Parish, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, as shown on the aforesaid plan numbered 26674, the abutment of a public road, the north-eastern boundaries of other parts of the aforesaid Allotments 91 and 90, the north-eastern boundaries of parts of Allotments 89 and 61 of the aforesaid Parish, along the western boundary of Allotment 16 of the said Parish, and the right bank of the Wautiti Stream, the eastern and northern boundaries of Lot 1, as shown on the plan numbered 15622, deposited as aforesaid, being part of Allotment 55 of the aforesaid Parish, along the western and northern sides and the eastern end of the public road forming part of the south-eastern
