Exemption from Warrant of Fitness Requirements in Chatham and Great Barrier Islands
Pursuant to the Traffic Regulations, 1936,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby exempt from the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, any motor-vehicle while operated solely within one or more of the islands described in the Schedule hereto.

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulation 1940
Pursuant to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply :—
A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical and Pharmaceutical Services for the Residents of Hanmer Special Area

I, MABEL BOWDEN HOWARD, Minister of Health, hereby notify for general information that, pursuant to section 82 of the Social Security Act, 1938, as amended by section 12 (1) of the Social Security Amendment Act, 1941, and section 20 of the Social Security Amendment Act, 1947, I have made special arrangements by which all persons usually resident in the district described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the said district) are, on and after the 1st day of October, 1949, entitled to receive without charge, at the hands of Raymond Arthur Wanty, of Hanmer, Registered Medical Practitioner, or such other registered medical practitioner as may be at any time appointed for the purpose, all such medical and pharmaceutical requirements as are provided as benefits in accordance with the Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941, the Social Security (General Medical Services) Regulations 1941, and the Social Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations 1941.

THE whole of the Hanmer township and all those areas having access to the Lewis Pass Road and lying between Hanmer and Lewis Pass.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Patrick James Gallagher, of the Public Trust Office, Auckland, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Auckland, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

Exempted Goods and Services (Control of Prices) Notice 1949, No. 1
Pursuant to section 18 of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby gives notice that goods sold and services performed by any local authority, with the exception of the goods or services referred to in the Schedule hereto, are exempt from the provisions of Part III of the Control of Prices Act, 1947, as from the 13th day of October, 1949.
In this notice the term “local authority” means a local authority within the meaning of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, whether by virtue of section 2 of that Act, or of any Order in Council thereunder, or by virtue of any other Act.

Revocation of Special Approvals for Goods Sold or Services Performed by Local Authorities
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby revoke as from the 13th day of October, 1949, every approval of an authorized selling-price for goods and every approval of an authorized charge for services granted to any local authority and relating to any goods sold or services performed by that local authority other than the goods or services specified in the Schedule hereto.
In this revocation the term “local authority” means a local authority within the meaning of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, whether by virtue of section 2 of that Act, or of any Order in Council thereunder, or by virtue of any other Act.

Price Order No. 1082 (Rabbits)
Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order :—
PRELIMINARY

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1082, and shall come into force on the 20th day of October, 1949.

(1) Price Orders Nos. 225,* 288,† and 720‡ are hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said Orders shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this Order.
- (1) In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires,—
“The said Act” means the Control of Prices Act, 1947 :
“North Island” includes all parts of New Zealand exclusive of the South Island and Stewart Island :
“South Island” includes Stewart Island :
The expression “f.o.b.c.i.” means “free on board, cases or other containers included”, and the expression “f.o.r.c.i.” means “free on rail, cases or other containers included”.
(2) Terms and expressions defined in the said Act, when used in this Order, have the meanings severally assigned thereto by that Act.

The provisions of this Order shall apply notwithstanding that any rabbits to which this Order is applicable are sold otherwise than by weight.

The several prices fixed by this Order apply with respect to sales by auction as well as to other sales.
