APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This Order applies with respect to skinned rabbits, whether cooked or uncooked, that are sold otherwise than in sealed tins or other metal containers.
FIXING MAXIMUM PRICES OF RABBITS TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
Wholesalers’ Prices
- (1) Subject to the following provisions of this Order, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any wholesaler, for any rabbits to which this Order applies shall be determined as follows:—
Maximum Wholesale Price, per Pound.

(a) For rabbits delivered to a retailer from wholesaler’s premises situated in the Provincial Districts of Otago (including Southland) or Canterbury .. .. .. 0 7¾
(b) For rabbits delivered to a retailer from wholesaler’s premises situated elsewhere in the South Island .. .. .. 0 7¹³⁄₁₆
(c) For rabbits delivered to a retailer from wholesaler’s premises situated in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay .. .. .. 0 7¹³⁄₁₆
(d) For rabbits delivered to a retailer from wholesaler’s premises situated elsewhere in the North Island .. .. .. 0 8⁷⁄₁₆
(2) The wholesale prices fixed by this clause are fixed as for delivery as follows:—
(a) Where the premises of the retailer are in the same town as the premises of the wholesaler: At the premises of the retailer;
(b) In any other case: f.o.b.c.i. or f.o.r.c.i. as the case may require.
(3) Where delivery is effected by a wholesaler otherwise than f.o.b.c.i. or f.o.r.c.i. as provided in the last preceding subclause, he may add to the appropriate price fixed in accordance with this clause the actual amount of the transport charges incurred in effecting delivery but not exceeding in any case the charges that would have been incurred by him if delivery had been effected by the holder of a goods-service licence under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, at authorized rates.
- (1) Where any wholesaler sells any rabbits to which this Order applies that have not been gutted or from which the heads have not been removed the appropriate prices fixed by this Order shall be reduced at the rate of 1½d. per pound.
(2) Where any wholesaler sells any rabbits to which this Order applies that are not packed in crates or are not frozen the appropriate prices fixed by this Order shall be reduced by the customary charges that would have been incurred had the rabbits been crated or frozen or both crated and frozen as the case may require.
DUTY IMPOSED ON WHOLESALERS
- Every wholesaler who sells any rabbits to which this Order applies shall state in the appropriate invoice the weight of the rabbits to which the sale relates.
Retailers’ Prices
- (1) Subject to the following provisions of this Order, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any rabbits to which this Order applies shall be determined as follows:—

(2) If in respect of any lot of rabbits sold by a retailer the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of pence or halfpence, the maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the next upward halfpenny.
(3) Every retailer who offers or exposes for sale any rabbits to which this Order applies shall keep in a prominent position in such proximity to the rabbits to which it relates as to be obviously in relation thereto a ticket, placard, or label showing in legible and prominent characters the retail price per pound.
SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
- Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provisions of this Order and subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any wholesaler or retailer, may authorize special maximum prices in respect of any rabbits to which this Order applies where special circumstances exist, or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the wholesaler, or retailer. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a special lot or consignment of rabbits or may relate generally to all rabbits to which this Order applies sold by the wholesaler or retailer while the approval remains in force.

Price Order No. 1083 (Amending Price Order No. 1076) (Apples and Pears)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:—

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 1083, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1076* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

This Order shall come into force on the 17th day of October, 1949.

The First Schedule to the principal Order as set out in Price Order No. 1081† is hereby revoked, and the following Schedule substituted therefor:—
