Varying the Determinations in Respect of the Balance (£12,500) of the Central Hawkes Bay Electric-power Board’s Loan of £50,000

At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of September, 1949

Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine (hereinafter called the said Order in Council), and subject to the determinations as to borrowing and repayment therein set out, consent was given to the raising in New Zealand by the Central Hawkes Bay Electric-power Board (hereinafter called the said local authority) of the sum of twelve thousand five hundred pounds (£12,500) (hereinafter called the said sum), being the balance of a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) known as “Reticulation Loan, 1947”;

And whereas the authority conferred by the said Order in Council has not yet been exercised and it is expedient to vary certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said sum:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf doth hereby vary certain of the determinations aforesaid in respect of the said sum by prescribing that in lieu of a rate of interest not exceeding three pounds two shillings and six pence (£3 2s. 6d.) per centum per annum, as specified in clause (2) of the said Order in Council, the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said sum or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds five shillings (£3 5s.) per centum per annum.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint:

Watt George Copland,
Joseph Burrowes,
Hugh Reeve Wilkinson,
Charles Thomas Alexander Ward,
Daniel Lynch,
Peter Roy Doig, and
Lawrence Arthur Willcocks

to be the Chertsey Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the fourteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Chertsey Hall as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CHERTSEY DOMAIN

Reserve 2376, Block VIII, Ashburton Survey District: Area, 29 acres 1 rood 38 perches, more or less.
Also Reserve 3057 (formerly Sections 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50, Town of Chertsey), Block VIII, Ashburton Survey District: Area, 2 acres 2 roods 27 perches, more or less.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint:

The District Electrical Engineer, State Hydro-electric Department, Hamilton, ex officio,
The Mayor of Cambridge, ex officio,
Colin William David Clark,
Allen Edward Looker,
Charles Bruce,
Leslie Alexander Duncan, and
James Wallace Watson

to be the Karapiro Lake Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Borough Council Chambers, Cambridge, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
