Coal Act, 1948, in respect of coal, servitudes, and rights

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC RECREATION

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Public
Works Amendment Act, 1935, and in the matter of the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Palmerston North City Council
intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works
Act, 1928, the following lands required for the purpose of public
recreation :—
All that parcel of land containing 1 acre 2 roods 31·31 perches,
more or less, situate in the City of Palmerston North, being part
of Sections 2 and 3 of the Hokowhitu Native Reserve, being also
parts of Lots 184 and 233 on Deposited Plan No. 791, and being
part of the land described and comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. 445, folio 114 (Wellington Registry): Commencing at the
northern corner of Lot 216 on Deposited Plan 791; thence in a
north-easterly direction on a bearing of 49° 15' 38" a distance of
406·75 links along the north-western boundary of Lot 233 on
Deposited Plan 791; thence in a south-easterly direction on a
bearing of 149° 41' 43" for a distance of 356·94 links across the
said Lot 233; thence in a south-westerly direction on a bearing of
43° 25' 43" for a distance of 260·43 links along the south-eastern

well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands and to send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town
Clerk of the Palmerston North City Council.
