PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF A CITY DEPOT AND WORKSHOP
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Public Works Amendment Act, 1935, and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Palmerston North City Council intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, the following lands required for the purpose of a city depot and workshop:
All that parcel of land situate in the City of Palmerston North containing 2 roods and 15 perches, more or less, being part of Section 841, Town of Palmerston North, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 109, folio 17 (Wellington Registry), subject to an easement created by Transfer No. 29372.
A plan of the said lands is deposited at the public office of the Palmerston North City Council and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the Palmerston North City Council.

BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and amendments thereto, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,500, authorized to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing and installing electro-matic traffic signalling apparatus within the Borough, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two decimal one pence (2·1d.) in the pound on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Newmarket, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, being for a period of fifteen (15) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorized to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting a men's convenience and ladies' rest-room and laying out of the grounds as a first stage of a community centre, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Newmarket, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of August in each year during the currency of the loan, being for a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting a spectators' stand in permanent material on the western side of the Olympic Swimming Pool, and the installation of suitable equipment for heating the water in the pool, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one decimal five pence (1·5d.) in the pound on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Newmarket, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of August in each year during the currency of the loan, being for a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

LOST SHARE CERTIFICATE
APPLICATION having been made to the directors of LEWIS EADY, LIMITED, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at 192 Queen Street, Auckland, to issue to Noeleen Griffiths, of Auckland, Married Woman, a duplicate certificate for 374 ordinary shares in the company, or other certificate or certificates in lieu thereof, upon the statement that the original certificate, No. 77 and dated 22/9/39, has been lost or destroyed, notice is hereby given that if within thirty days from the date hereof no claim or representation in respect of such original certificate is made to the directors they will then proceed to deal with such application for a duplicate or other new certificate or certificates.

AUCKLAND EDUCATION BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the district of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for a public school the following additional lands—namely, all that piece of land situated in the Provincial District of Auckland containing one acre one rood thirty-three decimal three perches (1 acre 1 rood 33·3 perches), more or less, being Lots 3, 4, and 5 on Deposited Plan No. 23512 (Auckland Registry), and being portion of Clendon's Grant situated in the Parish of Papakura. A plan of the said land is deposited in the post-office at Manurewa and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street East, Auckland.

MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE TO DEBENTURE-HOLDERS OF INTENTION TO EXERCISE OPTION IN THE MATTER OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES INTEREST REDUCTION AND LOANS CONVERSION ACT, 1932–33, AND THE MOUNT EDEN BOROUGH LOANS CONVERSION ORDER 1934 (No. 1)
IN pursuance of section 16 of the Mount Eden Borough Loans Conversion Order 1934 (No. 1) and the terms under which securities authorized by the said order were issued, the Mount Eden Borough Council, at a meeting held on the 23rd day of May, 1949, resolved to exercise the option contained in the securities in respect of all debentures maturing on the 1st day of April, 1955, of the Mount Eden Borough Conversion Loan 1934 (No. 1), and public notice is accordingly hereby given of the Mount Eden Borough Council's intention to redeem such debentures of the said loan on the 1st day of April, 1950, and interest thereon will cease on the said day, viz.: Debentures Nos. 2607–2648 inclusive, maturing on the 1st April, 1955.

NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Housing Loan, 1948, £10,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and in pursuance and exercise of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf the North Canterbury Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and other charges on a special loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the North Canterbury Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting dwelling-houses for the purposes of section 22 of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1947, the said North Canterbury Catchment Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one two-hundredths of a penny (1/200d.) in the pound upon the rateable property (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the North Canterbury Catchment District as defined in the New Zealand Gazette for the year 1944 at page 235, thereof, and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off."
