A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section twenty-nine of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as street the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the street described in the Second Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to section twenty-nine of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 14 acres 0 roods 22·7 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 103, 104, 105, and part Section 106, Rangitumau Block.
Situated in Blocks III and VII, Kopuaranga Survey District. (S.O. 21739.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 129164, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Road Traversing Maori Land Proclaimed as a Public Road in Block VIII, Whangaroa Survey District, North Auckland Land District

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the road described in the Schedule hereto traverses Maori land and has been used by the public as a public road and has been formed, improved, or maintained out of public funds:
And whereas the Maori Land Court, by an order made on the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and issued pursuant to section four hundred and eighty-four of the Maori Land Act, 1931, ordered and declared the said road to be a public road:
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the Maori Land Act, 1931:
And whereas it is now expedient that the said road should be proclaimed as a public road:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Maori Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a road: 8 acres 2 roods 13 perches.
Being portion of Te Touwai Block.
Situated in Block VIII, Whangaroa Survey District. (M.L. plan 13375.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/3107, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 3029, and thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of June, 1949.

State Forest Land Reserved Under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), has recommended that the State forest land described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes:
And whereas the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation and Commissioner of State Forests have also, pursuant to section fifty-five of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, recommended that the said State forest land should be declared a scenic reserve, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendations:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section six of the said Act and the said section fifty-five of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, do hereby proclaim and declare that the State forest land described in the Schedule hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.

Authorizing the Picton Borough Council to Reclaim Land at Picton in Queen Charlotte Sound

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of June, 1949
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS it is provided by the one-hundred-and-sixty-eighth section of the Harbours Act, 1923 (hereinafter called the said Act), that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, authorize any local authority or Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea areas not exceeding five acres in extent in any case where he considers that the reclamation will not affect navigation and is for the benefit of the public:
And whereas the Picton Borough Council (hereinafter called the Council) is desirous of reclaiming from the sea certain land at Picton in Queen Charlotte Sound, and the said reclamation is of such a nature as aforesaid, and the Council has applied to the Governor-General in Council for an order authorizing the execution of the said harbour-works:
