DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between JAMES WHITE THOMSON and DUNCAN NEIL McCALLUM, both of Pounawea, Fishermen, who carried on business at Pounawea under the style or firm of “Thomson and McCallum,” has been dissolved as from the 18th day of May, 1949, and the said JAMES WHITE THOMSON will continue to carry on the said business.

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE TO DEBENTURE-HOLDERS OF INTENTION TO EXERCISE OPTION IN THE MATTER OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES INTEREST REDUCTION AND LOANS CONVERSION ACT, 1932–33, AND THE INVERCARGILL CITY LOANS CONVERSION ORDER, 1934

IN pursuance of section 16 of the Invercargill City Loans Conversion Order, 1934, and the terms under which securities authorized by the said Order were issued, the Invercargill City Council, at a meeting held on the 24th day of January, 1949, resolved to exercise the option contained in the securities in respect of all debentures maturing on the 1st day of November 1954, of the Invercargill City Conversion Loan, 1934; and public notice is accordingly hereby given of the Invercargill City Council’s intention to redeem such debentures of the said loan on the 1st day of November, 1949, and interest thereon will cease on the said day—viz., Debentures Nos. 6809 for £50 and Nos. 6810 to 7009 (inclusive) for £100 each maturing 1st November, 1954.

MURCHISON COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) if thereunto enabling, the Murchison County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Maruia Hydro Development Loan, 1948, of £15,600, authorized to be raised by the Murchison County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the development of a hydro-electric plant on the Maruia River and the construction of a transmission line from the proposed power-house to Murchison Township to link up with the existing supply system, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four and one-half pence (4½d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the special rating area of the Murchison County known as the Electric Supply Area, being Blocks XV and XVI of the Lyell Survey District, Blocks XIII and XIV of the Matiri Survey District, Blocks III and IV of the Maruia Survey District, and Blocks I, II, V, VI, IX, and X of the Tutaki Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 12th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the County Council held at Murchison, on the 24th day of May, 1949.
