DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between HAROLD ROY BRETHERTON and CHARLES KEITH HENDERSON, both of Rotorua, Builders, and carried on under the style or firm name of “Galatea Builders,” has been dissolved as from the 20th day of May, 1949. All claims against or moneys owing to the former partnership shall be rendered or paid to THOMAS DALWAY PURVIS, care of Lee Bros., Fenton Street, Rotorua.

WAIRIOA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 15 of the Finance Act, 1936 (No. 2), the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Reticulation Loan (No. 2), 1948, £5,000, authorized to be raised by the said Board under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of extending electric-supply lines and reticulating additional areas of the Board’s district, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fortieth of a penny (1/40d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairoa Electric-power Board District, comprising the County of Wairoa and the Borough of Wairoa as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 29th day of July, 1920, at page 2257; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was submitted to and duly passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Wairoa Electric-power Board held at its offices, Marine Parade, Wairoa, on Monday, the 23rd day of May, 1949.

ATIAMURI TIMBER COMPANY, LIMITED

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a final general meeting of the shareholders of Atiamuri Timber Company, Limited (in voluntary liquidation), will be held at the office of the liquidator, 99 Queen Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, 21st June, 1949, at 12 o’clock midday, for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

RAETIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Raetihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,300, authorized to be raised by the Raetihi Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting a worker’s dwelling on Lot 1, Section 274, Raetihi Suburban, the said Raetihi Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Raetihi; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-three years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Dated at Raetihi, this 19th day of May, 1949.

Carter and Son” has been dissolved as from the 10th day of December, 1946, so far as concerns the said Frank Edward Carter who retires from the said firm. MORRINSVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE TO INTENTION OF TAKE LANDS

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and the Public Works Act, 1928, and their respective amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Morrinsville Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of workers’ dwellings within the Borough of Morrinsville—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Canada Street, Morrinsville.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the Borough of Morrinsville containing two roods, more or less, being Lot No. 153 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 2461, which said piece of land is portion of the block situated in Block VI of the Maungakawa Survey District, called Motumacho No. 2, and is the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 374, folio 207 of the Register-book at Auckland.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Housing Area Development Loan, 1949

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Timaru City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on Housing Area Development Loan, 1949, of £4,000 authorized to be raised by the Timaru City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing the Council’s share of the cost of works to be undertaken in terms of an agreement entered into between the Council and Minister of Works, pursuant to section 31 of the Finance Act (No. 3), 1944, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·041d. in the pound upon the whole amount of unimproved value of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Timaru; and such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until such loan is fully paid off.”

Certified that the above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Timaru City Council, held on 23rd May, 1949.
