A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to section twenty-nine of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 1 acre 3 roods.

Adjoining Sections 19 and 32, Block XIII, Galatea Survey District, and part Whirinaki No. 1 Section 1 Block.

Situated in Block XIII, Galatea Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 33976.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 128607, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of March, 1949.

Crown Land in Taranaki Land District Set Apart for the Purposes of Part I of the Housing Act, 1919

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is hereby, set apart for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—BOROUGH OF STRATFORD

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 10·96 perches, more or less, being part Section 36, Block I, Ngaere Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1107/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is hereby, set apart for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods, more or less, being Reserve 4093, and being also described as Lot 35 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch under No. 5841, and being part of Rural Sections 840 and 2214. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 25/832, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Crown Land Set Apart as Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Takaka County, containing by admeasurement 846 acres, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 4, Block II, Flora Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 102/21, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 8339.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of March, 1949.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Maungakawa and the Kiwitahi Rabbit Districts.—(Notice No. Ag. 4627)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of March, 1948

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is enacted that the boundaries of two or more contiguous rabbit districts may from time to time be altered by the Governor-General in Council in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Board of each of the districts affected:

And whereas the districts known as the “Maungakawa Rabbit District” and the “Kiwitahi Rabbit District” (hereinafter referred to as the said districts) have been constituted under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Board of the Maungakawa Rabbit District on the ninth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and a similar resolution was passed by the Board of the Kiwitahi Rabbit District on the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, praying in each case for the alteration of the boundaries of the said districts in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto:

And whereas the Board of the Maungakawa Rabbit District has, pursuant to section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including a further additional area therein:

And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such further additional area qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for the Maungakawa Rabbit District has been given to the inclusion in that district of such further additional area:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts in accordance with the said resolutions and the said request of the Maungakawa Rabbit Board in manner hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts so constituted as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare—

(1) That the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Kiwitahi Rabbit District, shall be added to and form part of the Maungakawa Rabbit District;

(2) That the boundaries of the Maungakawa Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Second Schedule hereto;

(3) That the boundaries of the Kiwitahi Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto; and

(4) That this Order in Council shall take effect on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE KIWITAHl RABBIT DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE MAUNGAKAWA RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Waikato County, situated in Block XIV, Maungakawa Survey District, and Block II, Cambridge Survey District, containing by admeasurement 800 acres 0 roods 33 perches, more or less, being part Kiwitahi Nos. 3c and 3b Blocks on D.P. 28351.
