the purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, on and from the

to be Maintenance Officer at Christchurch for the purposes of the
Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 2nd day
of February, 1948.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IV, Mikimiki Survey
District, for Road
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes
of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office
at Mauriceville and is there open for inspection; and that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking
of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the
Minister of Works at Wellington.

Defining Lands in Auckland Land District (Whatauri Farm Settle-
ment) to which Water is supplied pursuant to Section 8 of the
Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by subsection (5) of section 8 of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1939, I, Clarence Farringdon Skinner, Minister of
Lands, hereby give notice that the lands defined in the Schedule
hereto are lands to which water is supplied under the said section.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL those areas in the County of Waipa, containing by admeasure-
ment a total of 556 acres and 12 perches, more or less, being
Sections 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 49, and 53, Block II,
Wharepapa Survey District. As the same are more particularly
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/1442, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon edged red. (Auckland plans S.O. 32862 and S.O. 33630.)

Kaitaia Swamp Drainage Area.—Penalty on Overdue Rates
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 5th February, 1948.
IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the
Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the rate-
payers within the Kaitaia Rating Area are hereby notified that
ten per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending
31st March, 1948, unpaid on 15th March, 1948.
Rates may be paid at any money-order office or to the Collector
of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, P.O. Box 2205, Auck-
land C. I.
