Coroner Resigns

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to accept the resignation by James Stanley Tingey, Esquire, of Feilding, of his appointment as a Coroner for the Dominion of New Zealand.

Appointment of Licensing Authority in Terms of the Transport Licensing Amendment Act, 1946
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Transport Licensing Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby appoint Clifford Lyle Bishop, of Eastbourne, as District Licensing Authority for No. 3 Transport District and District Licensing Authority for the No. 4 Transport District respectively, for a term commencing in each case on the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and ending in each case on the thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-nine.

Inspector for School of Anatomy Appointed

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased, under Part II of the Medical Act, 1908, to appoint Charles Harley Superintendent of Police at Dunedin, to be Inspector for the School of Anatomy established at Dunedin under the Medical Act, 1908, in succession to Andrew Gilbride McHugh, Inspector of Police.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in the City of Invercargill for Housing Purposes
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Invercargill and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 2 acres 0 roods 26 perches.
Being Lots 4 and 5, Block VIII, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 18, Block IX, Deposited Plan 1645, being part Section 34, Block I, Invercargill Hundred (City of Invercargill), and being the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 128, folio 20 (Southland Land Registry).
In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 127961, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged green.
