1942, to reappoint

William Edward Hale, Esquire,

to be a member of and the representative of the dairy-producers of
New Zealand on the New Zealand Meat-producers Board established
under the Meat-export Control Act, 1921–22.

Result of Election of a Member of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire
Board by Fire-insurance Companies

Exemption Order Under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister
of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions
of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they
relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the
person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following
provision shall apply :—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor-drivers
Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule
hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the
course of his employment on a farm or market-garden of the
respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule,
but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen
years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Social Security Act, 1938.—Notice Regarding Amendments to
Prescription Prices in New Zealand Formulary

ADDENDUM, November, 1948, to the New Zealand Formu-
lary :—

NEW ZEALAND FORMULARY, PART 2

The references in this part of the New Zealand Formulary to
the First Schedule to the Rules of Prescription Pricing shall, where
applicable, be deemed to be to the Prescription Pricing Supplement
1948/6, issued by the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee. This
amendment shall take effect with respect to all medical prescriptions
and midwifery orders (whatever the date thereof) that are presented
to a contractor for fulfilment on or after 1st December, 1948.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
Declaring Land Taken for the Settlement of Discharged Service-
men

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen’s Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said
Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the
said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35 on the
26th day of June, 1947, at page 793 :

And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner
prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said land :

And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice
of intention to take the said land :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which such objection
was referred did, on the 5th day of October, 1948, make an order
disallowing such objection and determining that the said land is
suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time
allowed by the Court :

And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting-date :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land described
in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of discharged service-
men, and hereby specifies the 28th day of February, 1949, as the
date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His
Majesty the King.
