At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of
November, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section one hundred and twenty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the
Wellington City Council on the fifteenth day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, viz. :
“ The Wellington City Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, by
resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred
and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not
apply to that portion of the northern side of Taft Street fronting
those portions of Lots 77 and 78, D.P. 392, comprised in
Certificates of Title 208/124 and 81/94 ” ;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall
at any time be erected on the land fronting the northern side of the
portion of Taft Street (described in the Schedule hereto) within a
distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion
of street.
SCHEDULE
The northern side of all that portion of street situated in the
Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Taft Street,
fronting part Lots 77 and 78, D.P. 392, being part Section 12, Ohlro
District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 127932, deposited in the office of the Minister of
Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

November, 1948

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section one hundred and twenty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Nelson
City Council on the nineteenth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-eight, viz. :
“ That the Nelson City Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the City of Nelson, by resolution
declares that the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-
eight of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply, firstly,
to the north-western side of the portion of Kawai Street
adjoining part of Section 858B, City of Nelson, being all the land
comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 52,
flio 193, Nelson Registry, and, secondly, to the south-western
side of the portion of Tipahi Street adjoining the said part of
Section 858B, City of Nelson, being all the land comprised and
described in the said Certificate of Title, Volume 52, folio 193,
Nelson Registry ” ;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall
at any time be erected on the land fronting the north-western side
of the portion of Kawai Street and the south-western side of the
portion of Tipahi Street (described in the Schedule hereto) within a
distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions
of streets.
SCHEDULE
The north-western side of all that portion of street situated in the
Nelson Land District, City of Nelson, known as Kawai Street,
fronting part of Section 858B.
Also the south-western side of all that portion of street situated
in the said land district and city, known as Tipahi Street, fronting
part of Section 858B.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 127926, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of
November, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section five of the Maori Purposes Act, 1937,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set
apart and reserve the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule
hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the members
of the Ngatiwhakahemo hapu as a site for a meeting-house and
dining-hall.
SCHEDULE
All that area of land in the Auckland Land District, containing
1 acre, more or less, called or known as Pukehina M 2c (part),
situate in Block II, Waihi South Survey District, and being all
that land contained in Maori Land Plan 16552 (red).

Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of
November, 1948
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excel-
lency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and
declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire
district, to be known as the “ Waiuku Rural Fire District ” ; and
doth hereby specify the trees and other plants and sand-dune
areas in the said area as the property for the protection of which
the district is constituted ; and doth hereby specify the period
between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth
day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed
fire season in the said district ; and doth hereby prescribe that
the said Waiuku Rural Fire District shall be administered by the
Commissioner of State Forests for the purposes of the said Act ;
and doth hereby further declare that this Order in Council shall
come into force on the day following publication thereof in the
Gazette.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
Waiuku Rural Fire District
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Franklin County,
containing approximately 4,600 acres, situated in Blocks VI and
VII, Maioro Survey District, and bounded generally as follows :
Commencing on the foreshore at a point 20 chains north of the
south-western corner of Section 353, Waiuku West Parish, and thence
proceeding in a north-easterly direction to a point on the south-
western boundary of Lot 2 on D.P. 12202, and situated 8 chains
north of the southernmost corner of the said Lot 2 ; thence by the
south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 2 on D.P. 12202
to the southern boundary of Allotment 150A, Waiuku West Parish,
being portion of Lot 3 on D.P. 12202 ; thence in a south-easterly
direction by the boundaries of Allotment 150A, Waiuku West
Parish, to and across a public road ; thence in an easterly direction
generally along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of
Section 190, Waiuku West Parish, the north-western and north-
eastern boundaries of part Allotment 51, and the northern boundaries
of Allotments 50, 49, and 48, Settlement of Maioro, Suburban
Section 2, Parish of Waiuku West (D.P. 15089), to the north-western
corner of Allotment 48 aforesaid ; thence across a public road, and
proceeding by the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of
Lot 3 on D.P. 21618, to and across a public road ; thence by the
northern and eastern boundaries of Section 134, Parish of Waiuku
West, the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments 20 and 19, Sub-
urban Section 2, Parish of Waiuku West, to and across a public
road ; thence by the north-western and north-eastern boundaries
of Allotment 1, Suburban Section 2, Parish of Waiuku West, the
north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 61 of
Suburban Section 2, Parish of Waiuku West, to and across a public
road ; thence along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 69
and the north-western boundary of Allotment 63 of Suburban
Section 2, Parish of Waiuku West, and the western and northern
boundaries of Allotment 147, Parish of Waiuku West, to the right
bank of the Maioro Stream ; thence in a southerly direction along
the right bank of the Maioro Stream to the Waikato River ; thence
generally in a southerly and westerly direction by the Waikato
River and in a north-westerly direction by the Tasman Sea to the
point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated
on plan No. 24/1, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest
Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
