Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of November, 1948

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the “Woodhill-Helensville Rural Fire District”; and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants and sand-dune area in the said area as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted; and doth hereby specify the period between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district; and doth hereby prescribe that the said Woodhill-Helensville Rural Fire District shall be administered by the Commissioner of State Forests for the purposes of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

Woodhill-Helensville Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Waitemata County, containing approximately 20,800 acres, situated in Blocks XII and XIII, Kaipara Survey District, and Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, VIII, and IX, Kumeu Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing on the foreshore at the north-western corner of the portion of Te Heke Block (taken for sand-dune-reclamation purposes by Gazette, 1936, page 1374); thence in an easterly direction generally along the northern boundary of part of the Te Heke Block aforesaid to a public road, and thence along the northern side of that public road to the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 7309, being portion of Paneka Block; thence in a southerly direction generally across the said public road, and along the western boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 7309, of the aforesaid Paneka Block, part of the north-western and the south-western boundaries of Whenuanui No. 7 Block, the western boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 11361, being part Wharepapa Block, and a line produced across a public road to the northern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 9826, being part Pahunuhunu Block; thence along the northern boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid, the western boundary of Lot 2 of the aforesaid D.P. 9826, being parts Pahunuhunu, Rarapuka, and Kaituna Blocks; thence along the north-western side of that road and the eastern side of the Main North Highway to its junction with the Paekawau Road; thence along the eastern side of that road, the northern, eastern, and south-eastern boundaries of part Hanekau B 1b Block, along the north-eastern side of a public road, the eastern boundaries of the Oneonenui Block, as shown on D.P. 22813, the Okeritoto Stream, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 9596, being part of Muriwai Block, to and across the Waimauku – West Coast Main Highway; thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the south-eastern side of that highway and the Oaia Road to the eastern corner of Motutara Block; thence along the north-eastern boundary of part of that block to the south-eastern boundary of part Motutara Domain, being part Motutara Block; thence along the said south-eastern boundary to and across a foreshore reserve to the sea; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the foreshore to the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 16/6, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY

Herekino Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Mangonui County, containing approximately 23,000 acres, situated in Blocks V and VIII, Ahipara Survey District, Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Takahue Survey District, Block II, Herekino Survey District, and Block VII, Whangape Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-east by Allotment S.W. 54, Ahipara Parish, Okahu Nos. 4E, 4D, 4C, and 4B Blocks, part of Section 29, and Sections 28 and 32, Block X, Takahue Survey District; towards the north by Section 33, Block X aforesaid, part of Section 16, Block XIV, Takahue Survey District, and parts of Section 27, Block X aforesaid; towards the east by Section 26, Block X aforesaid, and Section 11, Block XIV, Takahue Survey District; towards the south-east and south by the south-eastern and southern sides of the Herekino–Takahue Road; towards the east by Section 4, Block XIV aforesaid; towards the south and south-east by the southern and south-eastern sides of the Herekino–Takahue Road; towards the south by the southern side of a public road; towards the south-west by the south-western side of the Kaitaia–Motukaraka Road; towards the west by Ahipara Nos. 49K and 49R Blocks, and Allotment 5, Ahipara Parish; and towards the north-west by the north-western side of the Kaitaia–Motukaraka Road. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 4/19, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural fire district, to be known as the “Waitakere Rural Fire District”; and doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on lands vested in the Auckland City Council and situated in the said area as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted; and doth hereby specify the period between the first day of October in any one year and the thirtieth day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district; and doth hereby constitute the Auckland City Council as the rural fire committee of the Waitakere Rural Fire District; and doth hereby prescribe that the said district shall be administered for the purposes of the said Act by the Auckland City Council; and doth hereby further declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Waitemata County, containing approximately 57,200 acres, situated in Blocks XI and XII, Kumeu Survey District, Block XIII, Waitemata Survey District, Blocks I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII, Waitakere Survey District, and Blocks I, II, V, VI, VII, IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Titirangi Survey District, bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-west by the Waitakere – West Coast Road; towards the north-east generally by Allotments 27, 25, 9, 169, and 172, Waipareira Parish, by a public road; thence by Allotments 191, 235, 236, 237, the abutment of a public road, and Allotments 244, 250, 251, 196, and by the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned allotment produced to the north-western boundary of Allotment 183, and by that allotment and by Allotments 19 and 18, all in Waipareira Parish, by Allotments 8, 105, by a public road, Allotment 106, by a public road, by Allotments 109 and 110, by a public road, by Allotments 11, 117, 120, 50, 49, 128, a public road, and by Allotment 281, all in Waikomiti Parish; towards the south-east generally by Allotments 292, 293, and 294, Waikomiti Parish, and by the shores of the Manukau Harbour; and towards the south-west by the Tasman Sea. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 20/1, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
