Revocation of Appointment of a Garage-proprietor for Issue of Warrants
of Fitness
IN terms of Regulation 11 of the Traffic Regulations 1936, and
all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of
Transport doth hereby revoke the approval of the persons described
in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of the issue of warrants of
fitness for motor-vehicles.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill Extraordinary
Vacancy on the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made
thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of
the said Act doth hereby appoint Wednesday, the 10th day of
November, 1948, to be the date for holding the election of one
member of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board by the fire-
insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the
extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. H. V. Lawry.

Plants Declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Opotiki County.—(Notice

THE following special order made by the Opotiki County Council
on the 8th day of October, 1948, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
“In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1928, the Opotiki County Council hereby resolves and declares,
by way of special order, that the following plants, being plants
mentioned in the Second Schedule of the said Act, as extended
from time to time by the Governor-General in Council, are noxious
weeds within the County of Opotiki:—
“(1) Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus).
“(2) Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
“(3) Bathurst Burr (Xanthium spinosum).”

Prescription Prices in New Zealand Formulary
ADDENDUM, October, 1948, to the New Zealand Formulary:—
NEW ZEALAND FORMULARY, PART 2
The references in this part of the New Zealand Formulary to
the First Schedule to the Rules of Prescription Pricing shall, where
applicable, be deemed to be to the Prescription Pricing Supplement
1948/5, issued by the Pharmacy Plan Industrial Committee. This
amendment shall take effect with respect to all medical prescriptions
and midwifery orders (whatever the date thereof) that are presented
to a contractor for fulfilment on or after 1st November, 1948.
