Price Order No. 938 (Amendment No. 3 of Price Order No. 680)
(Cream Sold to Cream Vendors)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:-

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 938, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 680* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1948.

  3. The principal Order is hereby amended by omitting sub-clause (2) of clause 3, as substituted by Price Order No. 763† and amended by Price Order No. 813‡, and substituting the following subclause :—

“(2) References in this Order to milk districts are references to the following milk districts :— “Akaroa, Amberley, Ashburton, Auckland Metropolitan, Balclutha, Bay of Islands, Blenheim, Bluff, Bulls-Sanson, Cambridge, Christchurch Metropolitan, Clyde, Cromwell, Culverden, Dannevirke, Dargaville, Dunedin Metropolitan, Edendale, Eltham, Fairlie, Feilding, Foxton, Geraldine, Gisborne, Gore, Greymouth, Hamilton, Hampden, Hawera, Helensville, Hokitika, Huntly, Hutt Valley and Bays Metropolitan; Inglewood, Invercargill, Kaiapoi-Rangiora, Kaikohe, Kaikoura, Kaitaia, Kaponga, Katikati, Kurow, Lawrence, Levin, Lyttelton, Manaia, Marton, Matamata, Methven, Middlemarch, Milton, Morrinsville, Motueka, Napier-Hastings, Naseby, Nelson, New Plymouth, Ngarauwahia, Oamaru, Ohura, Opotiki, Orepuki, Otaki, Otorohanga, Oxford, Paeroa, Pahiatua, Palmerston North Metropolitan, Patea, Picton, Pukekohe, Putaruru, Raetihi, Raglan, Ranfurly, Riverton, Rotorua, Roxburgh, Shannon, Springfield, South Wairarapa, Stratford, Taihape, Takapau, Taumarunui, Tauranga, Te Awamutu, Te Aroha, Te Kuiti, Temuka, Te Puke, Thames, Timaru, Waihi, Waikouaiti, Waimate, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Wairoa, Waitara, Wanganui, Warkworth, Waverley, Wellington (West Coast), Wellsford, Westport, Whakatane, Whangarei, Winton, Woodville, and Wyndham, being the districts defined in Price Orders Nos. 761(1) (all the above districts except those hereinafter mentioned) (as amended by No. 935(2)), 762(3) (Blenheim, Greymouth, and Lyttelton) (as amended by No. 937(4)), 765(5) (Auckland Metropolitan and Hamilton) (as amended by Nos. 851(6) and 936(7)), 766(8) (Hutt Valley and Bays Metropolitan and Wellington (West Coast)), 779(9) (Taihape), and 811(10) (Taumarunui).”

  1. Price Order No. 813‡ is hereby revoked.

Price Order No. 939 (Amendment No. 1 of Price Order No. 792) (Onions)

Pursuant to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Act, 1947, the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order :-

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 939, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 792* (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 1st day of October, 1948.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. (1) Except as provided in subclause (2) hereof, this Order applies with respect to all onions subject to the principal Order that are sold for delivery at any time after the commencement of this Order and on or before the 31st day of December, 1948.

(2) This Order does not apply with respect to new season onions or to any onions of picker grade or to any onions grown in the Auckland or North Auckland Land Districts or in the South Island.

MODIFICATION OF THE PRINCIPAL ORDER WITH RESPECT TO ONIONS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO THIS ORDER

  1. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the principal Order, the maximum price that may be charged for any onions to which this Order applies shall be determined as follows :-

Growers’ Prices

(a) For f.a.q. onions : £14 per ton f.o.r.s.e. the grower’s station.
(b) For ungraded onions : £11 per ton f.o.r.s.e. the grower’s station.

Retailers’ Prices

(a) For f.a.q. onions : 3d. per pound.
(b) For ungraded onions : 2½d. per pound.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

W. J. Cargill, 76A Ponsonby Road, Auckland, has applied for a licence to manufacture women’s footwear by the cemented process.

Pharmacy Industry

W. B. Morris, Dargaville, has applied for a licence to operate a new pharmacy at St. Heliers Bay Road, Auckland.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

M. W. Broomhall, Carrier, Hundalee, North Canterbury, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on applicant’s premises at Hundalee.

Farm Machinery Service, Ltd., 187 Princes Street, Hawera, has applied for variation of existing licence to permit the removal of one pump from its present situation at the back of garage premises in Princes Street, Hawera, to a site on the Princes Street frontage of the adjoining section.

G. N. Richards and W. G. Minnitt, Tokoroa, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed at proposed garage premises at Tokoroa.

Universal Motors, Ltd., Dorset Street, Patea, has applied for variation of existing licence to permit the removal of one pump from its present situation inside the firm’s premises at Dorset Street, Patea, to a site on the kerbside in Dorset Street.

Austice’s Motors, Ltd., Achilles Avenue, Nelson, has applied for variation of existing licence to permit the removal of one pump from its present position inside garage premises at Achilles Avenue, Nelson, to a site outside.

Warren Motors, Ltd., West Quay, Waitara, has applied for variation of existing licence to permit the removal of one pump from its present position inside garage premises at West Quay, Waitara, to a site outside.

E. B. Wild, George Street, Tuakau, has applied for variation of existing licence to permit the removal of a petrol pump from its position inside garage premises at George Street, Tuakau, to a site in the open yard.

F. R. Brady and J. Galbraith, Clyde Street, Invercargill, have applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on the kerbside in front of garage premises, Clyde Street, Invercargill.

R. W. Butcher and Co., Auckland, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on garage premises adjacent to Hobson Street and Vogel Lane, Auckland.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 7th October, 1948, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. All communications should be addressed to Secretary, Bureau of Industry, C.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
