SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—TONGA ISLAND.—NUKUALOFA HARBOUR
Buoy and Beacons

  1. Position : Lat., 20° 57·8' S.; long., 175° 11·5' W.
    Details : The buoy marking an obstruction in the above position
    is missing and will not be replaced.

  2. Malinoa Light : Lat., 21° 02' 09" S.; long., 175° 07' 48"
    W. :-
    (a) Beacon referred to in “ Bellona” Note No. 11 of 1947—
    i.e., 325° 4·25 cables from above light and already shown
    on Chart No. 2363—is not yet erected.
    (b) Transit leading line will extend from Malinoa Light through
    beacon (a) in a 325° direction. Existing leading line
    in a 321° direction is not used and should be expunged.
    (c) Buoy marking Monro Rock, 311° 4·45 miles from above
    light, has broken adrift, and will not be replaced.
    (d) Buoy 301° 2·63 miles from above light has broken adrift,
    and will not be replaced.

M.H.W.S., and is conspicuous.

Fixing the Rates of the Levy on Wool Produced in New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 12 (2) of the Wool Industry Act, 1944,
the New Zealand Wool Board doth hereby fix the rates of
the levy to be charged on wool as defined by the said Act in accordance
with the provisions of that Act for the season commencing
the 1st day of October, 1948, as follows :-
(a) For each bale, 2s. 6d.
(b) For each fadge, 1s. 3d.
(c) For each bag or sack, 5d.

This notice is in substitution for the notice published in the
Gazette of the 9th September, 1948, at page 1153.
