CROWN LANDS NOTICE

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 14th September, 1948.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 3 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday, 10th November, 1948.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 17th November, 1948, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit on account of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.--THIRD-CLASS LAND

Wanganui County.--Waipakura Survey District

SECTIONS 5-10, Block X: Area, 62 acres 2 roods 37 perches. Capital value £30. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £1 12s. 10d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 12s.

Weighted with £45 for improvements, comprising fencing, scrub-cutting, grassing, and plantation. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £15, the balance is repayable in five years with interest at 5 per cent. by ten half-yearly instalments of £3 9s. 4d.

Sections are contiguous, and are situated eleven miles from Aramoho Railway-station and Post-office and fourteen miles from Wanganui Saleyards. The country is mostly steep, with small areas of flat and easy slope. Sections are badly infested with scrub and gorse, and are unsuitable as a separate holding.
