IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter
of WAITANGI PRIVATE HOTEL, LIMITED (in Voluntary
Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 232 of
the Companies Act, 1933, a general meeting of the members
of the above company will be held at the offices of Messieurs Barnett
and Barnett, Wellington, at 9.30 a.m. on Friday, the 13th August,
1948, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing
the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the
property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation
that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by
extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts,
and documents of the company and of the liquidator shall be
disposed of.

of August, 1948, at which an extraordinary resolution for voluntary
winding up is to be proposed; and that a meeting of the creditors
of the said company will be held, pursuant to section 234 of the
Companies Act, 1933, at Nelson, on the 9th day of August, 1948,
at 3.30 p.m. in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement
of the position of the company's affairs, together with a list of the
creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid
before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance
of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the
liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the
said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given that by minute entry, pursuant to
section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, the following
extraordinary resolution was passed on Friday, the 9th July,
1948:-
"(1) That, as the company cannot by reason of its liabilities
continue its business, the company be wound up; and
"(2) That WILLIAM EDWARD CRETNEY, of Nelson, Public
Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes
of such winding up."
All persons or companies having claims against the above-
named company are required to send full particulars thereof to the
undersigned on or before the 9th day of August, 1948, otherwise
they may be excluded from participation in any distribution of
assets.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Machinery Loan, 1947, £16,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Hobson County
Council hereby resolves as follows :-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £16,000, authorized to be raised by the Hobson
County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the establishing
and equipping of a machinery workshop and purchasing additional
road-making plant and trucks for the transport of workmen and
gear, the said Hobson County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of three farthings (¾d.) in the pound (£) upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the County of Hobson; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being
a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off."

ELTHAM DRAINAGE BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING GRADUATED SPECIAL RATES AS SECURITY
FOR LOAN
IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Eltham Drainage Board
hereby resolves as follows :-
"That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a ten-year 3% per cent. table loan of £2,435,
and known as 'Redemption Loan (1A and 2A), 1948', authorized
to be raised by special order in New Zealand under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming at maturity the
outstanding liability in respect of Redemption Loan No. 1, 1937,
of £1,175, and the Redemption Loan No. 2, 1937, of £3,150, the
Eltham Drainage Board hereby makes and levies the following
annual-recurring graduated special rates upon the rateable value
(on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in Special-
rating Areas Nos. 13 and 14 of the Board's district, as respectively
constituted by resolutions adopted by the Board at a duly convened
special meeting held on the 8th December, 1926, and confirmed
as a special order at a duly convened special meeting held on the
11th January, 1927, and recorded in the minutes of its proceedings
of those dates at pages 444-445 and 447-448 respectively, namely :-
"On Lot 1, D.P. 2702, of Section 31 and part Section 31, a
special rate of 77/100ths of 1d. in pound; on Sub. 1, D.P. 6561,
part Section 48, a special rate of 41/100ths of 1d. in pound; on
Sub. 2, D.P. 6561, part Section 48, a special rate of 42/100ths of
1d. in pound; on Lot 1, D.P. 4985, part Section 51, a special rate
of 44/100ths of 1d. in pound; on Lot 2, D.P. 4985, part Section 51,
a special rate of 84/100ths of 1d. in pound; on Section 49, a special
rate of 1 and 8/100ths of 1d. in pound; on Section 52, a special
rate of 1 and 7/100ths of 1d. in pound; all situate in Block XI,
Ngaire Survey District; on part Section 36, a special rate of
