HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 2A
Brigham's Creek—Albany.—All that road in the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland—Helensville Main Highway adjoining Part 105, Waipareira Parish, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly and north-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Birkenhead—Maungaturoto Main Highway adjoining Allotment 488, Paremoremo Parish, being a distance of 9 miles 60 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 127301, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green and red.
Kumeu—Riverhead.—All that road in the Waitemata County, commencing at its junction with the Auckland—Helensville Main Highway at Kumeu, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly and north-easterly direction and terminating at its junction with the Brigham's Creek—Albany Main Highway, being a distance of 2 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 127301, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Appointing a Non-elective Member of the Wairarapa Catchment Board

PURSUANT to section forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—
Charles Langbein, Esquire, M.Inst.C.E., District Engineer, Ministry of Works, Wellington,
to be a non-elective member of the Wairarapa Catchment Board for a term commencing on the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and terminating on the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifty.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of July, 1948.

Land temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the Otago Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.
SCHEDULE
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing 5 acres and 14 perches, more or less, being Section 36, Block IV, Gimmerburn Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 783·6 links; towards the east and south by Section 35, 650·4 links and 646·1 links respectively; and towards the south-west by a public road, 810·6 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1191, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of July, 1948.

Land set apart in the Taranaki Land District as an Addition to a Site for a Public School (Turuturu)

WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, or of section twenty-two of the first-mentioned Act, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments:
And whereas the Land Board of the Taranaki Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to a site for a public school (Turuturu), and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as an addition to a site for a public school (Turuturu).
SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block V, Hawera Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being Lot 1 on D.P. 6272, and being part Section 557, Patea District, and more particularly shown on plan S.O. 8269, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at New Plymouth, and thereon coloured orange.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of July, 1948.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Punakaiki Scenic Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in trust for the purposes of scenery preservation, as from the date of this notice until the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) in the Punakaiki Scenic Board, as constituted by notification dated the sixteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published in Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month.

RESERVE 1797 (formerly part Sections 2000 and 2002), Block I, Punakaiki Survey District: Area, 587 acres 0 roods 35 perches, more or less.
