At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 29th day of
June, 1948

N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for defence
purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and
doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown,
is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area situated in Block XI, Paekakariki Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 525 acres, more or less, being the
whole of Mana Island, but excepting therefrom the Landing-place
Reserve described in a Warrant dated the 12th day of October,
1893, and published in the Gazette dated the 19th day of that month.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 22/2704, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

HEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been
duly set apart as a reserve for recreation purposes : And
whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to
vest the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of
the Borough of Levin :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of
the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth
hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof, the
reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the
Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Levin, in trust,
for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that area in the Borough of Levin, containing by admeasurement
2 acres, more or less, being part Section 45, Levin Village Settlement :
Bounded towards the south-west by Bath Street, 500 links ;
towards the north-west by Lots 26 and 20 on Deposited Plan 1797,
being part of Section 44, Levin Village Settlement, 400 links ;
towards the north-east by other part of the aforesaid Section 45,
500 links ; and towards the south-east by Queenwood Road, 400
links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1150,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

All that area in the Borough of Huntly, containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre and 10-5 perches, more or less, as shown on S.O. plan
31946, being parts of Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block III, on
D.P. 9386, being portion of Allotment 8, Taupiri Parish, and being
portion of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title,
Volume 718, folio 203 (Auckland Land Registry), excepting all coal,
fireclay, and other minerals in, upon, or under the said land subject
to the mineral rights created in and by the Transfer 207274. As the
same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
1/1107a, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Revoking the Declaration of a Main Highway and declaring Public
Highways to be Main Highways

July, 1948

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

I
N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and
of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, on and after the
fifteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight,
the main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall
cease to be a main highway, and doth further declare that the roads
described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be main highways
within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways
Act, 1922.

FIRST SCHEDULE

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 2A

Kumeu—Albany.—All that main highway in the Waitemata
County, declared as the Kumeu—Albany Main Highway, described
in Order in Council dated 2nd October, 1940, and published in
the Gazette on 10th October, 1940.
