A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section thirty-five of the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

Altering and redefining the Boundaries of the Kiwitea and the Oroua Rabbit Districts.—(Notice No. Ag. 4516)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 19th day of May, 1948
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), it is enacted that the boundaries of two or more contiguous rabbit districts may from time to time be altered by the Governor-General in Council in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Board of each of the districts affected :
And whereas the districts known as the “Kiwitea Rabbit District” and the “Oroua Rabbit District” (hereinafter referred to as the said districts) have been constituted under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act :
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Board of the Kiwitea Rabbit District on the tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven; and a similar resolution was passed by the Board of the Oroua Rabbit District on the twelfth day of the same month praying in each case for the alteration of the boundaries of the said districts in the manner described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts in accordance with the said resolutions and in the manner hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the said districts so constituted as aforesaid, and doth hereby declare—
(1) That the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Kiwitea Rabbit District, shall be added to and form part of the Oroua Rabbit District ;
(2) That the boundaries of the Kiwitea Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Second Schedule hereto ;
(3) That the boundaries of the Oroua Rabbit District shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto ; and
(4) That this Order in Council shall take effect on the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE KIWITEA RABBIT DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE OROUA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,940 acres, more or less, being Sections 1, 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 4, 5, 13, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 19, 20, and 21 of Block XIV, Ongo Survey District, and Sections 10, 11, and 12 of Block XIII of the said survey district, together with portion of the Rangitikei River-bed and also the roads intersecting or adjacent to the above-mentioned sections, which said area is bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 14, Block XIV, Ongo Survey District, and then proceeding in a westerly direction along the south boundaries of the said Section 14, Sections 13 and 12 of the said Block XIV, Section 11 of Block XIII, and the prolongation of the last-mentioned boundary to a point in the middle of the Rangitikei River ; thence towards the north-east, east, and south-east generally along the middle of the Rangitikei River to a point in line with the eastern boundary-line of the aforesaid Section 14 of Block XIV, Ongo Survey District ; thence in a southerly direction to and by the eastern boundary of the said Section 14 to the south-eastern corner thereof, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE KIWITEA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area comprising the County of Kiwitea, as amended by New Zealand Gazette No. 83 of 22nd December, 1926, and excluding the area embracing the Cheltenham Rabbit District described in the New Zealand Gazette of 3rd May, 1928.
THIRD SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE OROUA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area comprising the County of Oroua, as amended and described by New Zealand Gazette No. 83 of 23rd December, 1926, pages 3515 and 3516, excepting therefrom Lot 2, Deposited Plan No. 239, being part Subdivision X, Manchester Block, Block II, Gorge Survey District, and Block XIII, Pohangina Survey District, and the areas hereinafter described :—
All that area in the Oroua County situate in Block V, Oroua Survey District, being part Subdivision A, Manchester Block, and being all the land as shown on a plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington and numbered 42 (Town of Halcombe).
All that area in the Oroua County situate in Block III, Kairanga Survey District, being part Subdivision C, Manchester Block, and being also Lots 1 to 143, 146 to 151, 154 to 159, 162 to 167, and 170 to 171, all inclusive, on a plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington and numbered 217 (Bunnythorpe).
All that area in the Oroua County situate in Blocks I and III, Gorge Survey District, bounded as follows : Commencing at a point being the intersection of the south-western side of the Palmerston North – Napier Road with the right bank of the Manawatu River ; thence proceeding in a northerly direction along the right banks of that river and the Pohangina River to a point being the production of the northern side of Wyndham Street in the Town of Ashhurst ; thence in a westerly direction by that production to and along the northern side of Wyndham Street to the north-eastern side of the Feilding Road ; thence in a north-westerly direction by that north-eastern side to the production of the western side of a road forming the eastern boundary of Lot 35, Deposited Plan No. 237 ; thence in a southerly direction to and along that western side to a point in line with the south-western boundaries of Lot 77, Deposited Plan No. 214 ; thence in a south-easterly direction to and along the western boundaries of Lots 77, 76, 73, and 75, Deposited Plan No. 214, and the western side of Winchester Street to the northern side of Mulgrave Street ; thence in a south-westerly direction, by the crossing of Mulgrave Street, and by the north-western side of Feilding Road and the production thereof to the south-western side of the Palmerston North – Napier Road ; thence in a south-easterly direction by the south-western side of that road to the right bank of the Manawatu River, the place of commencement (Ashhurst).
