And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the twelfth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for railway purposes :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for railway purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

Land permanently reserved in the Wellington Land District

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was by the Warrant dated the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for ferry purposes :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for ferry purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL those areas in the Featherston County, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 35·1 perches, more or less, being Lots 11, 24, and 36, all on Deposited Plan 12843, and being parts of Section 9 and closed road, Block IX, Haurangi Survey District. As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/9/67D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of May, 1948.

GREETING.
WHEREAS by Warrant issued on the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, under the hand of the Governor-General and the Seal of the Dominion, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, you were appointed under the authority of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the adequacy of fresh meat supplies available for the New Zealand retail market and kindred matters as set forth in the said Warrant :
And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report within thirty days of the date thereof your findings and opinions on the matters referred to you together with such recommendations as you might think fit to make :
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, I, Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council, do hereby extend until the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, the time within which you are so required to report :
And, in further pursuance of the said powers and authorities and with the like advice and consent, I do hereby confirm the said Warrant and the Commission thereby constituted save as modified by these presents.
Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of May, 1948.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) F. H. Childs relinquishes the appointment of N.Z. Military Liaison Officer, Sydney, and the temporary rank of Captain and is appointed Staff Captain, “A” Branch, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 2nd February, 1948.

Captain B. J. McGregor to be temp. Major. Dated 1st October, 1947.
N.Z. REGIMENT
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) G. M. McCaskill, having reached the normal age for retirement, is transferred from his Corps to the Supernumerary List, N.Z. Regular Force. Dated 11th March, 1948.
Temp. Captain St. J. W. Christie, from the N.Z. Temporary Staff, is granted a short-service commission for a period of five years as from 1st April, 1948, in the rank of Captain, with seniority from 1st August, 1946. Dated 1st April, 1948.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp. Captain and Quartermaster) G. H. Martin relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster. Dated 1st May, 1948.
Lieutenant B. A. Andrews is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Headquarters, Northern Military District, Auckland, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 19th January, 1948.
Temp. Lieutenant A. E. Doneghue, from the N.Z. Temporary Staff, is granted a short-service commission for a period of five years as from 1st April, 1948, in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st August, 1945. Dated 1st April, 1948.
