Appointment of New Trustee for the Owhango Public Cemetery
B. C. FREYBERG, Governor-General
P URSUANT to section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I,
Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Alexander Devereux
to be a trustee to have the maintenance and care of the cemetery
under the said Act, known as the Owhango Cemetery, in conjunction
with such of the other persons heretofore so appointed as are still
in office, and in place of
William O'Donnell
whose seat has become vacant by resignation.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 7th day of May, 1948.

Industrial Purposes

P URSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the Land
Act, 1924, and section forty of the Statutes Amendment Act,
1945, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
notify and declare that the undermentioned land is available for
disposal as a site for commercial or industrial purposes.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
SECTIONS 36-40, Block XLV, Hutt Valley Settlement, situated in
Block XIV, Belmont Survey District: Area, 32.79 perches.

Lands permanently reserved in the North Auckland, Gisborne,
Wellington, Nelson, and Otago Land Districts

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the
Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General
may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves; notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral licence,
any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the
said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the
said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of
one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in
the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently
reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be
published in the Gazette:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were
by the Warrant dated the fifth day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the
twelfth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority
of the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant
specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so
intended to be temporarily reserved:
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands
described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the said
Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the
lands so intended to be permanently reserved for which purposes
the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

SECTION 17, Block VIII, Purua Survey District: Area, 1 rood

Section 145, Town of Linton: Area, 1 rood 5.9 perches, more
or less. (Railway purposes.)
All that area in the Borough of Levin, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being part Section 45, Levin Village
Settlement: Bounded towards the south-west by Bath Street, 500
links : towards the north-west by Lots 26 and 20 on Deposited
Plan 1797, being part of Section 44, Levin Village Settlement,
400 links ; towards the north-east by other part of the aforesaid
Section 45, 500 links ; and towards the south-east by Queenwood
Road, 400 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As
the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
1/1150, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Recreation.)
