And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the
time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed
by the Court :

And whereas the said lands are not the lands of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His
Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described
in the said Third and Fourth Schedules are taken for the settlement
of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 23rd day of
March, 1948, as the date on which the lands described in the said
Third Schedule shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the
King, and the 22nd day of March, 1949, as the date on which the
land described in the said Fourth Schedule shall be deemed to be
vested in His Majesty the King.

FIRST SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing one thousand eight hundred and
forty-one (1,841) acres two (2) roods four (4) perches, more or
less, being Rural Sections 28587, 28799, 28936, 30676, and part
Rural Section 33202, situated in Blocks XIV and XV, Opuha
Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Tengawai Survey District,
and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. 450, folio 237 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing one thousand four
hundred and eighty-seven (1,487) acres one (1) rood and twenty-
one (21) perches, more or less, being Lots 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on plan
deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 2845,
being Rural Sections 19948 and 30437 and part Rural Section
19945, situated in Block XV, Opuha Survey District, and Block III,
Tengawai Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised
in certificate of title, Vol. 449, folio 171 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing one thousand two
hundred and seventy-four (1,274) acres one (1) rood and thirty-two
(32) perches, more or less, being Lots 30, 35, 36, 37, and part Lot
38 on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch
as No. 2845, and Lot 1 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 5289,
being Rural Sections 12774, 19944x, and part Rural Sections 12775,
19944, 19947, and 30454, situated in Blocks III and IV, Tengawai
Survey District, and Block XV, Opuha Survey District, and being
the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 449,
folio 153 (Canterbury Registry), subject to water easements over
part of the above-described land created in and by Transfers 86802
and 86835.

SECOND SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL those parcels of land containing together four hundred and
six (406) acres one (1) rood and thirty-one (31) perches, more or
less, being Lot 8, Deposited Plan 3049, being part of Rural Sections
19489, 19490, 19493, 19722, 19723, 20550, 24389, and 24390, situated
in Blocks VI and X, Tengawai Survey District, and being all the
land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 307, folio 63 (Canterbury
Registry), subject to the reservations, easements, rights, and
covenants reserved and contained in Transfer 110416.

Also all those parcels of land containing together ninety (90)
acres three (3) roods, more or less, being Lot 12, Deposited Plan 3049,
and part Lot 4, Deposited Plan 3048, being part Rural Sections
19489, 19490, 19491, 19493, 19722, 19723, and 20550, situated in
Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Tengawai Survey District, and being
part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 301, folio 102
(Canterbury Registry), subject to the reservations, easements,
rights, and covenants reserved and contained in Transfer 110416.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. Proc. 2986, deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Block XV, Opuha Survey District, and Block III, Tengawai Survey
District, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. 449, folio 171 (Canterbury Registry). As the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. Proc. 2987,
deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of Discharged Service-
men

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settle-
ment and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the
intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said
Act the land described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the
said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 70 on
the 27th day of November, 1947, at page 1837 :

And whereas no objection was made in the manner prescribed
by the said Act :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee did on the 23rd day of
January, 1948, make an order determining that the land is suitable
or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of
two or more discharged servicemen :

And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within
the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time
allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of
section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the land
described in the said Schedule is taken for the settlement of dis-
charged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 17th day of March,
1948, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be
vested in His Majesty the King.

SCHEDULE

ALL those parcels of land containing three thousand and thirty-
three (3,033) acres, more or less, being Lot 3, Deposited Plan 10176,

Survey District, and Block II, Weld Survey District, and comprising
Rural Sections 18595, 18596, 18597, 20054, 25431, 30828, 36305, and
parts of Rural Sections 18598, 20055, 25484, 26292, 26346, 36295,
and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 438,
folio 38 (Canterbury Registry). As the same are more particularly
delineated on plans recorded in the office of the Chief Surveyor
at Christchurch as S.O. 7929 and S.O. 7930 and on the plan marked
L. and S. Proc. 2994, deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands
and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered yellow and blue
respectively.
