The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 1st day of February, 1949, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 31st day of March, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT
FIRSTLY, all that area containing by admeasurement fifty-five (55) acres and twenty-nine decimal two (29.2) perches, situated in Block I, Te Mata Survey District, part of Ngatarawa 2E 6 Block, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 111, folio 139 (Hawke's Bay Registry).
Subject to restrictions imposed by Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924, and section 248 of the Native Land Act, 1931.
Secondly, all that area containing by admeasurement sixty-four (64) acres and thirty-eight decimal eight (38.8) perches, situated in Block I of the Te Mata Survey District, part of the Ngatarawa 2E 5A Block, and being all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 111, folio 140 (Hawke's Bay Registry).
Subject to the restrictions imposed by section 248 of the Native Land Act, 1931.
Thirdly, all that area containing by admeasurement three hundred and thirty-one (331) acres, situated in Block XIII of the Heretaunga Survey District and Block I of the Te Mata Survey District, being the residue of Lot 1, Deposited Plan 3076, after deducting Lot 9 on Deposited Plan 7048, portion of the said land being also Lot 8 on the said Deposited Plan No. 7048, which said parcel of land is part Ngatarawa No. 4 Block, and being all the land on certificate of title, Vol. 111, folio 141 (Hawke's Bay Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice of Intention to take Land
THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the 14th day of April, 1948, as the date on which possession of the land is required, and the 5th day of April, 1948, as the date on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing two hundred and fifty-six (256) acres three (3) roods and thirty-one (31) perches, more or less, being part Rural Section 30844, situated in Block XVI, Spaxton Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 129, folio 96 (Canterbury Registry).
Also all that parcel of land containing seven hundred and eighty (780) acres and one (1) rood, more or less, being Rural Section 30841, situated in Blocks XI, XII, and XVI, Spaxton Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 459, folio 231 (Canterbury Registry).

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.-Notice declaring Lands taken for the Settlement of Discharged Servicemen
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 24 of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, notice was given of the intention of the Minister of Lands to take under Part II of the said Act the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and a copy of the said notice was published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46 on the 21st day of August, 1947, at page 1022:
And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act, objecting to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said lands:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the objection was referred made an order disallowing such objection and determining the lands to be suitable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or discharged servicemen:
And whereas no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the owner has agreed to an amended vesting-date:
And whereas the said lands are not the lands of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 27 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the lands described in the said Schedule are taken for the settlement of discharged servicemen, and hereby specifies the 1st day of April, 1948, as the date on which the said lands shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement forty-nine (49) acres seven (7) perches, more or less, being part Lot 2 of Section 1577, together with the rights re drainage contained in Transfer 41704, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 119, folio 11 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement forty-nine (49) acres four (4) perches, more or less, being part Lot 2 of Section 1577, subject to the rights and obligations re drain contained in Transfer 41704, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 119, folio 12 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement thirty-eight (38) acres three (3) roods eleven (11) perches, more or less, being part Lot 1 of Section 1577, the said parcel of land being more particularly shown as Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 1696, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 144, folio 291 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement twelve (12) acres three (3) roods thirty (30) perches, more or less, being part Section 1577, and being also Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 1696, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 155, folio 85 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement one hundred and twenty-five (125) acres twenty-six (26) perches, more or less, being Section 1603, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 72, folio 295 (Wellington Registry).
Also all that area situate in Block IX, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement ninety-nine (99) acres nine (9) perches, more or less, being Section 1604, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 30, folio 177 (Wellington Registry).

And whereas an objection was made by the owner in the manner prescribed by the said Act objecting to the taking of the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands did not revoke his notice of intention to take the said lands:
And whereas the Minister of Lands agreed to the retention by the owner of part of the lands described in the said First Schedule:
And whereas the owner agreed to a variation of the area to be taken by the inclusion of the additional lands described in the Second Schedule hereto:
And whereas the owner has withdrawn the objection to the taking of the lands described in the Third and Fourth Schedules hereto:
And whereas the owner has agreed to amendment of the vesting-date:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee did on the 23rd day of January, 1948, make an order determining that the lands described in the Third and Fourth Schedules are suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman or of two or more discharged servicemen:
