The notice appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46, dated
21st August, 1947, page 1017, under the heading "Reserve of Air
Force Officers--Relinquishments," so far as it relates to "NZ 40992
Squadron Leader Harvey Nelson SWEETMAN, D.F.C.," and
"NZ 539038 Flight Lieutenant John Beresford Dennitts WILLCOX,"
is cancelled.

THE MASTERTON LICENSING TRUST ACT, 1947.—Notice appointing Latest
Day for Nomination of Candidates and Day of Election of
Members
PURSUANT to section 11 of the Masterton Licensing Trust
Act, 1947, I, Henry Greathead Rex Mason, Minister of Justice
for New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the 10th day of
December, 1947, as the day of the first election of members of the
Masterton Licensing Trust, and Tuesday, the 2nd day of December,
1947, as the latest day for the nomination of candidates for the said
election.

Removal of Name from Commission of the Peace
Department of Justice,
Wellington, 20th November, 1947.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in terms
of section 8 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, to direct
the removal of the name of
Robert King
of Winton, from the Commission of the Peace; and it is hereby
notified that such name has been removed accordingly, and that
such removal will take effect on and from this 20th day of November,
1947.

Member of Clerks of Works Registration Board appointed
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Clerks of Works Act, 1944, and
acting on the recommendation of the New Zealand Institute
of Architects, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint
Hubert Conrad Morton
to be a member of the Clerks of Works Registration Board for the
residue of the term for which his predecessor, Joseph McClatchie
Dawson, resigned, was by an instrument dated the 26th day of June,
1947, appointed—that is to say, for the residue of a term of one year
commencing on the 4th day of July, 1947.

Appointment of Honorary Officers
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by section 29 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1946,
I, Frederick Hackett, Minister of Marine, do hereby appoint the
persons named in the following Schedule to be Honorary Officers
for the acclimitization district shown in such Schedule for the
purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, such persons to hold
office until the 31st March, 1950.

General in Council, acting pursuant to the provisions of
subsection (2) of section 17 of the Servicemen’s Settlement and
Land Sales Act, 1943, has appointed—
Ivan Everad Fitchett, of Nelson, Solicitor,
to be the Chairman of the Nelson Land Sales Committee in place of
Percy Stratton Boyes, resigned.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice
declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Service-
man
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of
the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the
land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application
has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application
relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a
discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the
Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of
the land, did on the 30th day of October, 1947, make an order
determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said
order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or
within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman
who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of
His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance
of section 51 of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the said
land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and
hereby specifies the 17th day of December, 1947, as the date on
which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty
the King.
SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement one hundred
and seventy-four (174) acres one (1) rood thirty-two (32) perches,
more or less, being Section I, Block VI, Paeroa Survey District.
As witness my hand, this 21st day of November, 1947.
