to use Water from the Inangahua River for the Purpose of
generating Electricity, and to construct, maintain, and use Electric
Lines and Works

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of
November, 1947
Present:

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee
named therein, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the
seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six,
and published in the Gazette on the eighth day of the same month,
at page 1075, authorizing the Grey Electric-power Board to use
water from the Inangahua River for the purpose of generating
electricity, and to construct, maintain, and use electric works and
electric lines in portion of the County of Inangahua, in so far as it
operates as a licence to obstruct, impound, and divert the waters
of the Inangahua River, and to take and use therefrom for the
purpose therein set forth a stream of water not exceeding fifty cubic
feet per second at any one time, and to maintain and use the works
described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), and (d) of clause four of the First
Schedule thereto, but not in so far as it operates as a licence to lay,
construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described therein,
and to construct, maintain, and use the said electric works as therein
provided.

REGULAR FORCE

COLONELS' LIST

Colonel (temp. Brigadier) W. G. Gentry, D.S.O., O.B.E., relinquishes
the appointment of Deputy Chief of the General Staff,
Army Headquarters. Dated 20th November, 1947.

ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY

Captain (temp. Major) E. H. L. Maxwell, M.C., relinquishes
the appointment of Officer Commanding, 11th Coast Regiment,
Royal N.Z. Artillery, and the temporary rank of Major, and proceeds
to England to attend a Long Gunnery Staff Course. Dated 13th
November, 1947.

N.Z. REGIMENT

Lieutenant-Colonel J. I. Brooke relinquishes the appointment
of General Staff Officer, 1st Grade (Training and Staff Duties),
Army Headquarters, is appointed Deputy Chief of the General
Staff, Army Headquarters, and is granted the temporary rank of
Colonel. Dated 21st November, 1947.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) A. H. L. Sugden is posted
to the Retired List with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated
12th November, 1947.

Temp. Captain H. E. P. Downes, N.Z. Temporary Staff, is
granted a short-service commission for a period of one year as from
1st November, 1947, in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from
1st June, 1947, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst
employed as Staff Officer, Personnel Selection, Army Education and
Welfare Services, Army Headquarters. Dated 1st November, 1947.

THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own)
Norman Russell Page to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.), and is
seconded to the Seddon Memorial Technical College Cadets, Area 1.
Dated 1st August, 1947.

The Waikato Regiment
Richard Taylor to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.), and is seconded
to the Hamilton High School Cadets, Area 4. Dated 20th October,
1947.

The Canterbury Regiment
George Albert Hillind to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.), and is
seconded to the Timaru Boys' High School Cadets, Area 10. Dated
1st June, 1947.

Temp. Lieutenant R. W. H. Maslin to be temp. Captain. Dated
1st October, 1947.

OFFICERS CEASING TO BE SECONDED TO THE 2ND NEW ZEALAND
EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Lieutenant-Colonel V. J. Innes, O.B.E., and is reposted to the
N.Z. Regular Force with the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel,
with seniority from 22nd April, 1941. Dated 23rd October, 1947.

Lieutenant (Acting-Captain) A. D. Fair, M.B., Ch.B., The
Royal N.Z. Army Medical Corps, and is reposted to the Territorial
Force with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 9th September,
1946. Dated 11th November, 1947.

OFFICERS STRUCK OFF THE STRENGTH OF THE 2ND NEW ZEALAND
EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 30, dated 9th May, 1946, relative to Lieutenant F. T. Thorpy,
for "Dated 9th April, 1946," substitute "Dated 25th February, 1946."

to read "Wireless Operator/Air Gunner."
