Redefining Boundaries of the City of Invercargill, the County of Southland, and the Awarua and Waihopai Ridings of the County of Southland

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the City of Invercargill are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said city having been altered by Order in Council made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, dated the 19th day of March, 1947, and published in Gazette No. 16 of the 27th day of March, 1947.
And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the County of Southland affected by the said Order in Council are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
And, in further pursuance of the provisions of the said section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the Awarua and Waihopai Ridings of the County of Southland affected by the said Order in Council are hereby defined as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF INVERCARGILL
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the western side of the Invercargill-Kingston Railway where the left bank of the Waihopai River intersects the said railway; then north-easterly generally along the left bank of the Waihopai River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 26, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; then southerly by a right line to and along the western boundary of the said Section 26 to a point 300 links north of Albert Street; then in an easterly direction by a right line parallel to Albert Street to the eastern side of Elles Road; then in a southerly direction along the eastern side of Elles Road to a point 300 links north of Layard Street; then in an easterly direction by a right line parallel to Layard Street to the western boundary of Lot 1 on the plan numbered 3802, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill; then in a northerly and easterly direction along the western and northern boundaries of the said Lot 1 on plan numbered 3802 aforesaid to the eastern boundary of Section 36, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; then in a northerly direction along the said eastern boundary of Section 36 to the Waihopai River; then in a south-easterly direction generally along the left bank of the Waihopai River to the production of a line 300 links east of and parallel to Salford Street; then in a southerly direction by the aforesaid line to a point 300 links north of Layard Street; then in an easterly direction along a right line parallel to Layard Street to the western side of Racecourse Road; then across Racecourse Road to the southernmost corner of Section 2, Block II, Invercargill Hundred; then in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 2 for a distance of 300 links; then by a right line parallel to Racecourse Road to Findlay Road; then in a south-westerly direction along the northern side of Findlay Road to Racecourse Road; then across Racecourse Road to the northernmost corner of Section 7, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; then in a south-westerly direction along the north-western boundaries of the said Section 7 and Section 6, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, to the westernmost corner of Lot 1 on plan numbered 3718, deposited as aforesaid; then in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of said Lot 1 on plan numbered 3718 aforesaid, and the south-western boundary of Section 6, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, to the Invercargill–Dunedin State Highway; then by a right line across the Invercargill–Dunedin State Highway to the north-eastern corner of Lot 10 on the plan numbered 3876, and deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill; then in a south-easterly direction to and along the north-eastern boundary of the said Lot 10 to the easternmost corner thereof; then in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Lots 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4, on plan numbered 3876 aforesaid, to the south-western boundary of Section 12, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; then in a south-easterly direction along the said south-western boundary of Section 12 to Tweed Street East; then by a right line due south across Tweed Street East to the eastern side of Margaret Street; then in a southerly direction along the eastern side of Margaret Street, a distance of 300 links; then in a westerly direction by a right line parallel to Tweed Street East to the western boundary of Section 18, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; then southerly along the western boundary of said Section 18 to the south-western corner thereof; then westerly along the northern boundary of Section 34, Block XIX aforesaid, to the eastern side of Metzger Street; then southerly along the eastern side of Metzger Street and the eastern boundary of Lot 10 on the plan numbered 2394, deposited as aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner thereof; then westerly along the southern boundaries of the said Lot 10 and Lots 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, on plan numbered 2394 aforesaid, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned Lot 1; then northerly along the eastern side of Calypso Road to the southern side of John Street; then westerly along the southern side of John Street to the eastern side of Saturn Road; then southerly along the eastern side of Saturn Road and that side produced to the southern side of Tramway Road; then westerly along the southern side of Tramway Road to the eastern side of Brown Street; then southerly along the eastern side of Brown Street and that side produced to the Seaward Bush Railway Reserve; then north-westerly along the northern side of the Seaward Bush Railway Reserve to Tramway Road; then westerly along the southern side of Tramway Road to Elles Road; then southerly along the eastern side of Elles Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 5, Block III, Invercargill Hundred; then westerly by a right line to and along the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 5, and that line produced across Bluff Road and the Invercargill–Bluff Railway Reserve to the eastern boundary of Section 10, Block III aforesaid; then north-westerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 10 to Stead Street; then south-westerly along the southern and south-eastern sides of Stead Street to the north-eastern corner of part Section 10, Block III aforesaid; then south-westerly, westerly, and northerly generally along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of the said part of Section 10; then south-westerly along the south-eastern side of Stead Street to a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block XXI; then north-westerly across Stead Street, to and along the north-eastern side of the public road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 9, and Sections 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2, Block XXI aforesaid, and north-easterly along the south-eastern side of the public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XXI aforesaid, to its junction with another public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 15, Block XV, Invercargill Hundred; then north-easterly along the south-eastern side of the said public road, and along the south-eastern boundary of part Section 15 and Section 21, Block XV aforesaid, to the western corner of Section 155, Block XV aforesaid; then south-easterly and north-easterly along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 155 and the south-eastern boundary of Section 34, Block XV aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner thereof; then northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 34 and Section 13, Block XV aforesaid, to Bay Road; then north-easterly along the south-eastern side of Bay Road to the western boundary of Section 9, Block XV aforesaid; then southerly along the western boundary of said Section 9, and Section 29, Block XV aforesaid, to the south-western corner thereof; then easterly along the southern boundary of said Section 29 to a public road forming the western boundary of Section 32, Block XV aforesaid; then southerly along the western side of the said public road to the north-western boundary of Section 19, Block XXI, Invercargill Hundred; then north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said Section 19 and that boundary produced to the Invercargill–Kingston Railway; then southerly along the western side of the Invercargill–Kingston Railway to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF SOUTHLAND
ALL that area situated in the Southland Land District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the mouth of the Waimatuku Stream; then a north-westerly and south-easterly direction along the centre of the Waimatuku Stream to a point in line with the centre of the new channel through Sections 2A and 1A, Block XIX, New River Hundred, approximately 1750 links south-east from the westernmost corner of the aforesaid Section 2A; then to and along the centre of the said new channel on a bearing of 352° 45′ to the centre of the said Waimatuku Stream; then by the centre of the said Waimatuku Stream to a point in line with the centre of the said new channel; then on a bearing of 23° 30′ to and along the centre of the said new channel to the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Block XIX, New River Hundred; then along the centre of the said new channel, which follows the south-eastern boundary of Section 10 aforesaid, to the centre of the said Waimatuku Stream; then in a northerly direction generally by the centre of the said Waimatuku Stream to the centre of the road forming the southern boundary of Section 25, Block III, Oreti Hundred; then due east by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 69, Block III, Oreti Hundred; then due north by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road forming part of the southern boundary of Section 166, Block III, Oreti Hundred; then due east by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road forming the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 166, and Sections 165, 164B, 164A, part Section 163, Lot 1 on a plan numbered 2888, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill, Sections 162 and 161, all in Block III, Oreti Hundred, parts of Section 156, Block IV, Oreti Hundred, and the Village of Drummond; then in a northerly direction by the centre of the said road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 61, Block IX, Oreti Hundred; then in an easterly direction, to and along the southern boundaries of the said Section 61 and Section 51, Block IX aforesaid, and that boundary produced to the centre of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 51, and Sections 50, 49, and 48, all in Block IX, Oreti Hundred; then in a northerly direction generally by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road intersecting Section 62, Blocks IX and XV, Oreti Hundred; then in an easterly and north-easterly direction by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 62 aforesaid and Section 53, Block XV, Oreti Hundred; then by the centre of the said road to the centre of the road forming the southern boundary of Section 237, Block XXXIX, Taringatura Survey District; then easterly along the centre of the said road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 237 and 238, Block XXXIX, Taringatura Survey District, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the said Section 238 aforesaid; then by a right line to and along the said eastern boundary of Sections 238 aforesaid, the eastern boundaries of Sections 239, 240, 241, and 242, Block XXXIX aforesaid, and the eastern boundaries of Sections 243, 244, 245, and Part 119, Block XXXV, Taringatura Survey District, and by a right line being the production of the said eastern boundary of part Section 119 aforesaid to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 188, Block XXIX, Taringatura Survey District; then due east by a right line to the south-western corner of Section 188 aforesaid; then in a northerly direction generally by part of the eastern boundary of Section 369, Block XXVIII, Taringatura Survey District, and Sections 368 and 367, Block XXII, Taringatura Survey District, to the line forming the southern boundary of Run 150B, Block XVIII, Taringatura Survey District; then due east by the southern boundaries of Run 150B and part Section 186, Block XVIII, Taringatura Survey District, Sections 261, 79, Lots 18 and 19 on the plan numbered 51, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill, all in Block XIX, and Sections 126, 17, 66, 10, and 18, Block XX, Taringatura Survey
