Porirua Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Waikanae River; thence easterly generally along the middle of that river, to and along the eastern side of the North Island Main Trunk Railway to the north-western corner of Subdivision 23 of Ngarara West C Block; thence along the northern boundary of Subdivision 23 aforesaid and its production to the middle of the Waikanae-Reikorangi Road; thence along the middle of that road, to and along the middle of Ngatiawa Road, to and along the middle of a branch road through Section 43, Block X, Kaitawa Survey District, to the middle of the Ngatiawa River; thence along the middle of that river to the northern boundary of Ngarara West C 18 Section 22; thence along the northern boundaries of Ngarara West C 18 Sections 2 and 1 to the eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, being a point on the north-western boundary of the Hutt Valley Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence south-westerly along that boundary to Trig. Station M in Block XII, Belmont Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line passing through Trig. Station 105 to the sea-coast; thence north-easterly along the sea-coast to a point in the middle of the mouth of the Waikanae River, being the point of commencement, and including Kapiti Island and Mana Island.
Poneke Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast in Block I, Port Nicholson Survey District, being the westernmost corner of the Porirua Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that area, to and along the south-western boundary of the Hutt Valley Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described to the middle of the entrance of Port Nicholson; thence north-westerly along a right line to Palmer Head; thence westerly, northerly, and north-easterly generally along the sea-coast to the westernmost corner of the Porirua Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described, being the point of commencement.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Eruera Tihema Tirikatene, acting for the Native Minister, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.
SCHEDULE
TAKITIMU TRIBAL DISTRICT
Tokomaru Bay Tribal Committee Area
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Kororonui Stream in Block XVI, Tokomaru Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to a point on the western boundary of Tauwhareparae No. 3 Block, 12800 links from the southern end of that boundary, and being a point on the boundary of the Uawa County; thence north-westerly generally along that county boundary, being a right line running due west 12000 links to Trig. Station 171, Puakato, a right line bearing $262^{\circ}$ distance 12400 links, a right line bearing $173^{\circ} 15^{\prime}$ distance 8700 links, and a right line bearing $210^{\circ} 30^{\prime}$ distance 5200 links to Rimututahi Trig. Station, right lines bearing $314^{\circ}$ distance 1400 links, bearing $328^{\circ}$ distance 1100 links, bearing $294^{\circ} 30^{\prime}$ distance 2800 links, bearing $349^{\circ} 41^{\prime}$ distance 5669 links, bearing $345^{\circ} 21^{\prime}$ distance 1098 links, bearing $344^{\circ} 29^{\prime}$ distance 10800 links, bearing $74^{\circ} 30^{\prime}$ distance 4500 links, bearing $9^{\circ} 30^{\prime}$ distance 6600 links, bearing $273^{\circ}$ distance 7500 links, bearing $315^{\circ}$ distance 1600 links, bearing $298^{\circ} 30^{\prime}$ distance 11800 links, bearing $267^{\circ}$ distance 2250 links, bearing $258^{\circ}$ distance 4500 links and bearing $20^{\circ} 29^{\prime}$ distance 17000 links to the south-western boundary of Tauwhareparae 2B Block, the south-western and south-eastern boundary of that block, to and across the Mangamaunu Stream to its left bank, down the said left bank to the Mata River, up the right bank of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 1, Block VI, Tutamoe Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Section 1, Block V, Small Grazing-run 98, and Huiaura No. 1; thence northerly along the western boundary of Huiaura No. 3 to its intersection with a line from Trig. Station Kapua to Trig. Station Arowhana; thence north-easterly along that line to its intersection with the production of a right line from Trig. Station 318, passing through Trig. Station Teritua; thence easterly to and along that line to the said Trig. Station 318; thence southerly along the western boundary of Small Grazing-run 96 to the southern side of an abutting road; thence easterly generally along the southern side of that road passing through Section 5, Block XIV, Hikurangi Survey District, Huiaura No. 2 Block, Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block XIV aforesaid, and forming the southern boundary of Section 5, Block XV, Hikurangi Survey District, passing through Hauturu Block, Section 2, Block XV aforesaid, Pouturu No. 2 Block, and Whakamarutuna No. 2 Block, forming the southern boundary of Crown land, Paraeroa No. 2 Block, and passing through Section 2, Block XVI, Hikurangi Survey District, across the Mata River, and passing through Puketiti Block, Ruangarehu No. 1 Block, again Puketiti Block, again Ruangarehu No. 1 Block, and again Puketiti Block to the Ihungia Bridge across Ihungia River; thence again easterly along a right line to the north-western corner of Te Puia Township, and along the northern boundary of that township to its north-eastern corner; thence south-easterly along a right line in the direction of the mouth of the Waihuru Stream to the sea-coast; thence southerly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Karoronui Stream, the point of commencement, and including Motuhiauru Island.
Anaura Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Karoronui Stream in Block XVI, Tokomaru Survey District; thence southerly generally along the sea-coast to Te Karaka in Block XII, Uawa Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to the confluence of the Mangaopeka Stream and the Uawa River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of the Uawa River and the Mangatokerau Stream to the south-western boundary of Lot 1 of Small Grazing-run 46; thence north-westerly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block I, Uawa Survey District, and Section 2, Block XIII, Tokomaru Survey District, to Rimututahi Trig. Station, being a point on the boundary of the Tokomaru Bay Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence northerly and easterly generally along the boundary of that area to the mouth of the Karoronui Stream, being the point of commencement, and including Motuoroi and other adjacent islands.
Hauiti Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at Te Karaka on the sea-coast in Block XII, Uawa Survey District; thence southerly generally along the sea-coast to the north-eastern boundary of Pakarae No. 1A Block; thence north-westerly generally along that boundary and the northern boundary of that block and Pakarae No. 1D Block and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Pakarae River; thence northerly and westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block XIII, Uawa Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2 on the plan numbered 2620, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Gisborne; thence north-westerly generally along that boundary and the north-eastern boundaries of Section 3, Block XVI, Waingaromia Survey District, and Waimata North No. 1A, No. 2 Block, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangarara Stream, up the middle of that stream, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block XVI aforesaid, the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XV, Waingaromia Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of a public road; thence north-easterly and north-westerly generally up the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 1 of Small Grazing-run 43A; thence north-easterly and north-westerly along that boundary and the north-eastern boundary of that run and its production to the middle of a public road; thence northerly generally up the middle of that road to the middle of the Waiapu Inland Road; thence westerly generally along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3 on the plan numbered 1696, deposited as aforesaid; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 11 on the aforesaid plan and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Waingaromia River; thence north-easterly generally up that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Waipaoa No. 3B Block; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the generally eastern boundary of Waipaoa No. 2 Block; thence north-easterly, north-westerly, and northerly along the generally eastern boundaries of that block to the southern corner of Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoi Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of that section, Section 2, Block IX aforesaid, Section 2, Block V of that survey district, and Section 1; Block VI of that survey district, and the production of the last mentioned-boundary to the right bank of the Mata River, being a point on the south-western boundary of the Tokomaru Bay Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence south-easterly generally along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of the Anaura Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described to Te Karaka on the sea-coast, being the point of commencement, and including Pourewa Island and other adjacent islands.
Whangara Tribal Committee Area
All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast in Block XI, Whangara Survey District, being the north-eastern corner of the Pakarae No. 1A Block; thence south-westerly generally along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Hamanatua Stream; thence northerly generally up the middle of that stream to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Turanganui Survey District; thence north-easterly along that boundary and across a public road; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 5 and 16, Block IV aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waimata River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 7, Block VII, Waimata Survey District; thence along a right line in the direction of the south-eastern corner of Section 7 aforesaid to the middle of the road forming the southern boundary of that section; thence northerly generally along the middle of the road, passing through part Section 7, and forming the eastern boundaries generally of Sections 8, 9, 6, 2, 1, and 5, all of Block VII aforesaid, passing through Small Grazing-run 69 and Section 3, Block III, Waimata Survey District, and Section 1, Block XV, Waingaromia Survey District, to a point in line with the northern boundary of that section, being a point on the south-western boundary of the Hauiti Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of that area to the north-eastern corner of the Pakarae No. 1A Block, being the point of commencement, and including Whangara Island.
