JAN. 16] \nTHE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE \n35 \nAuthorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft. \nWHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is \ninexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown \nupon the plan of Town of Redwoodtown Extension No. 12, affecting \npart Section 1 of 27 and Part 197, Omaka, situated in Block III, \nTaylor Pass Survey District, Marlborough Land District, is intended \nto be used wholly for residential purposes, that the roads shown as \nEdith and Manson Streets thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. : \nNow, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him \nby section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every \nother power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth \nhereby authorize the laying-off of the roads shown as Edith and \nManson Streets of widths of not less than 75 links : Provided \nalways that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to \nbe erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle \nof such roads. \nGiven under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 9th day \nof January, 1947. \nC. SKINNER, Minister of Lands. \n(L. and S. 25/892.) \nNotice as to an Area in the Auckland Land District declared to be a \nFire District \nWHEREAS by section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921โ€“22, as amended \nby section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925 (herein- \nafter referred to as the said Act), it is enacted that the Commissioner \nof State Forests, on application by any owner or occupier of land, \nmay constitute by notice in the Gazette such land and any other \nland as a fire district for the purpose of securing the safety from \ndamage by fire of any trees on any private or other lands of an area \nof not less than 200 acres : \nAnd whereas New Zealand Forest Products, Limited, is the \nowner of certain lands in the Matamata County exceeding the said \narea : \nAnd whereas the said owner has made application to me dated \n25th February, 1946, for the constitution of a fire district : \nAnd whereas it appears expedient to grant the application : \nNow, therefore, in pursuance of the said Act, I do hereby \nnotify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and \nthe Land Board of the Auckland Land District, the area described \nin the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district, \nto be known as the 'Oraka Fire District,' for the period of five \nyears from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked); \nand, with respect to the fire district constituted as aforesaid, I do \nfurther specify the period from the 1st day of October in any year \nto the 15th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the \nperiod during which it shall not be lawful for any person, save \npursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, \nor cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), \nor any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or land- \nclearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable \nmaterial without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by \na Forest Officer.
