Approval of Application by Whangarei Borough Council for
Declaration of a Zone of Parking Restriction

Pursuant to Regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations
1937, as amended by the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937,
Amendment No. 1, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve
of the application made by the Whangarei Borough Council for a
declaration that the continuous parking of motor-vehicles shall be
restricted to a maximum period of sixty minutes for any vehicle
between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the zone of parking
restriction described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that part of Water Street commencing at its meeting with
Waiarohia Stream and ending at its meeting with Bank Street;
all that part of Bank Street commencing at its meeting with Rose
Street and ending at its meeting with Hunt Street; all that part
of Cameron Street commencing at its meeting with Bank Street
and ending at its meeting with Walton Street; all that part of
Rathbone Street commencing at its meeting with Cameron Street
and ending at its meeting with Robert Street; all that part of
James Street commencing at its meeting with Cameron Street and
ending at its meeting with Robert Street; and all that part of
Walton Street commencing at its meeting with Albert Street and
ending at its meeting with Cameron Street.

Revoking Part of a Warrant declaring an Area to be a Closely
Populated Locality and Declaring an Area to be a Closely
Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles
Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936,
and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister
of Transport doth hereby revoke those words in the Schedule of the
Warrant dated the 25th day of August, 1937,* which describe the
area situated in the Whakatane County, and doth hereby declare
the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated
locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a
person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other
place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to
the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said
section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Whakatane County--

All that area at Taneatua consisting of the Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway No. 20 commencing
at a point 4 chains measured along the said State highway
in a north-westerly direction from its junction with Howell
Road; proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly
and north-easterly direction and terminating at a point
8 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-
westerly direction from its junction with the Taneatua
Railway-station Road.

Exemption Order under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940,* the
Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the
provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the said regulations, so
far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not
apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the
following provisions shall apply:-

A motor-driver’s license issued under the Motor-drivers
Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market-garden
of the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but
shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years,
to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby order
and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7
of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940t, so far as they relate to the
driving of a motor-omnibus, shall not apply to James Wyatt, of
Lower Hutt.
