Revoking a Warrant declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality
and excluding Streets from Limitation as to Speed in Terms of
Section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act,
1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke the Warrant
dated the 25th day of February, 1938,* declaring an area within
Taupo Road District to be a closely populated locality, and doth
hereby exclude the streets described in the Schedule hereto from
the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of the Rotorua–Taupo State Highway No. 21,
situated within Taupo Town District, from its junction with Waiariki
Street to the north-western boundary of Taupo Town District as
at present constituted.

All that portion of the National Park – Taupo State Highway
No. 23, situated within Taupo Town District, from a point 3 chains
measured along the said state highway in a north-westerly direction
from its junction with the Taupo–Napier State Highway to the
southern boundary of Taupo Town District as at present constituted.

Approval of Application by Gisborne Borough Council for Declaration
of a Zone of Parking Restriction

PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Traffic Sign Regulations
1937, as amended by the Traffic Sign Regulations 1937,
Amendment No. 1, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve
of the application made by the Gisborne Borough Council for a
declaration that the continuous parking of motor-vehicles shall be
restricted to a maximum period of thirty minutes for any vehicle
between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the zone of parking
restriction described in the Schedule hereto, and doth revoke the
approval given on the 18th day of September, 1946.*

SCHEDULE

ALL that part of Gladstone Road commencing at its meeting with
Derby Street and ending at its meeting with Reads Quay, and all
that part of Peel Street commencing at its meeting with Reads
Quay and ending at its meeting with Gladstone Road.

The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice of
Intention to take Land

THE Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 24 of the
Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, hereby
gives notice of his intention to take the lands described in the
Schedule hereto under Part II of the said Act, and specifies the
25th day of March, 1947, as the date on which possession of the
land is required, and the 31st day of January, 1947, as the date
on or before which objections may be made under section 25 of the
said Act.

SCHEDULE

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing one thousand eight hundred and
forty-one (1,841) acres two (2) roods and four (4) perches, more or
less, being Rural Sections 28587, 28799, 28936, 30676, and part
Rural Section 33202, situated in Blocks XIV and XV, Opuha
Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Tengawai Survey District,
and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. 450, folio 237 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing one thousand four
hundred and eighty-seven (1,487) acres one (1) rood and twenty-one
(21) perches, more or less, being Lots 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on plan
deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 2845,
being Rural Sections 19945 and 30437 and part Rural Section 19948,
situated in Block XV, Opuha Survey District, and Block III,
Tengawai Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised
in certificate of title, Vol. 449, folio 171 (Canterbury Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing one thousand two
hundred and seventy-four (1,274) acres one (1) rood and thirty-two
(32) perches, more or less, being Lots 30, 35, 36, 37, and part Lot 38
on plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Christchurch as
No. 2845, and Lot 1 on plan deposited as aforesaid as No. 5289,
being Rural Sections 12774, 19944x, and part Rural Sections 12775,
19944, 19947, and 30454, situated in Blocks III and IV, Tengawai
Survey District, and Block XV, Opuha Survey District, and being
the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 449,
folio 153 (Canterbury Registry), subject to water easements over

numbered 9952, and being all the land described in certificate of
title, Vol. 421, folio 283 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
thirty-four (34) acres two·(2) roods fourteen (14) perches, more or
less, being parts of Rural Sections 37 and 38, Karere Block,
Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being also Lot 2 on a
plan deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at
Wellington, numbered 9952, and being all the land described in
certificate of title, Vol. 421, folio 284 (Wellington Registry).

Also all that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
seventy-five (75) acres, more or less, being parts of Sections 3 and 4,
Karere Block, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, and being all

Waihi Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General
Rates, and Notice of Amendment of Annually Recurring Special
Rates

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 17th December, 1946.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the
Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make
and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina
Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said
Act, the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and
on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Sub-
division the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto,
and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Sub-
division the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto,
such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance-
costs for the period 1st April, 1946, to the 31st March, 1947.

Notice is also given that, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage
Act, 1915, and its amendments, the annually recurring special
rates made and levied on the 28th day of December, 1929, and
amended on the 12th August, 1935, and on 28th November, 1938,
have been further amended as from the 1st day of April, 1946, to the
amounts described in the Fourth Schedule hereto for the Pukehina
Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area, and to the amounts
described in the Fifth Schedule hereto for the Kaikokopu Sub-
division. The amount of such special rates will, in respect of the
financial year ending on the 31st March, 1947, be payable on 24th
January, 1947, and will, in respect of every future financial year,
be payable on the 30th August in such year.

The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum
on the 24th January, 1947, when the annually recurring special
rates already made and levied will also be payable.

The valuation-roll and the rate-book of the district will be open
for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Land Drainage
Engineer’s Office, Room 15, 1st Floor, Government Buildings,
Customs Street West, Auckland, and copies of same may be inspected
at the office of Mr. H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te
Puke, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction
of public business.

FIRST SCHEDULE
GENERAL RATES
Pukehina Subdivision

CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A
by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of
the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, twopence and
forty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (2·48d.) in the pound.

CLASS C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as
Class C, one penny and one-tenth of a penny (1·10d.) in the
pound.

SECOND SCHEDULE
GENERAL RATES
Central Subdivision

CLASS A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A
by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of
the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, sevenpence
and eighty-one one-hundredths of a penny (7·81d.) in the
pound.
